@Riot about Infinity edge PBE crit value change

LordOfTheLeague··3 votes·3,186 views

With the incoming IE change on PBE (Infinity Edge Critical Strike reduced to 20% from 25%), Yasuo will no longer be able to reach 100% crit chance with IE+statikk shiv+runes.

The only reason Yasuo has this passive was to remove the RNG from crit once he has his core items. If this change come to live, please do something to address this by increasing statikk shiv crit chance to 25% for example.

That's all.

Or...just change that stupid Yasuo passive maybe?

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

It's not stupid at all, it completely removes the rng part from crit when you hit 100%. I'd say it's a really great passive.

Ale non è male5 votes

It's stupid because it gives a huge powerspike(you have 100% guaranteed crits) by building only 2 common and powerful items + runes Yasuo doesn't have to make an itemization or a gameplay choice(see Trynda that must keep his Fury up to get his crit chance) to get that crit chance

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

Every champs are different and you can't compare 1 part of a champ with an other. You compare 2 champs for their entire kits.

Yasuo can make an itemization choice, statikk is kind of mandatory but sometimes you prefer botrk instead of IE first for better 1v1 potential. And a lot of champion don't make big itemization choice anyway.

The gameplay of yasuo is not to get his ressource up for more crit chance but is about using his mobility and windwall to not get instakilled by anything (tryndamere gameplay is pressing R right ?).

The 100% guaranteed crits is part of the champ. If you remove it, he just looks stupid.

Ale non è male3 votes

No, If you prefer Botrk instead of IE first you are just a noob Yasuo player, have a guarantee crit on every AA(and on his Q) is always better for 1 vs 1 potential at that point of the game, especially when BoTRK still isn't at his best cause enemies don't have a lot of health yet

The fact that a lot of champion don't make a lot of itemization choices, especially for crit is bad (there is a lack of crit items + Runaan is too weak to compete with PD/Statik because of lack of MS, + There is the need to an item with higher raw AD that can challenge IE as first item rush for a lot of AD based champs), but this just doesn't make Yasuo passive less bad anyway

The 100% guaranteed crits is the reason why he needed to be nerfed so hard to the ground that now he has a so low win rate and is useless most of the time. if you remove it (and substitue it with a better damage steroid connected to crit) you can finally buff the rest of his kit and taking him closer to what was the original concept(more of a bruiser that use the shield flow and windwall to not getting wpied out while he kill enemy rather than assassin that must go in for a kill on any kind of knock-up with no counterplay for the enemyor is completely destroyed) Trynda has a gameplay that leave windows for counterplay since if he stay back he can't proc Fury, and the ulti is what it is, an ulti, so it has to be powerful

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

Guy, you are unranked. This tips come from a diamond Yasuo. Just don't start with this.

The 100% crit chance is what Yasuo should be balanced around, not the opposite way. Because it does what is intended, it gives him a reliable dps steroid.

Ale non è male2 votes

I'm not the guy that has an average 6/9/5 KDA yasuo on the account on which post and lose when start anything else than Statik + IE though, so don't start with this, please

Yasuo should not be balanced about having 100% crit chance with 2 common and powerful items, yasuo should be balanced around having higher damage than any other champ on crit hits and should aim to build crit to get that

A passive that gives him 5-10% additional damage on crit hits rather than 2x crit chance would be a way more healthier start to balance him, because what it gets now is not what it is intended, it is not just a reliable dps steroid, it is a hiuge burst powerspike at a certain point in the game

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

The ability to negate RNG is what his passive is. The moment you understand that, the moment you stop with your stupidity.

Ale non è male1 votes

Negate RNG is not a plus if this translate in having a huge burst powerspike once you have completed just 2 common and powerful items Instead of being a damage steroid for him, it just create a power curve that isn't matched by anyone else and give him free stats/power out of nowhere without even have any particular relation with his theme(or not more than what an increased X% damage on crit hits would have, for an example)

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

I'll say it again, the 100% crit chance reach should be the base of the passive. If it's too much of a power spike then nerf his damage, Yasuo crits are already reduced by 10% and if it's needed then just reduce it even more by 20 or 25%.

The 100% crit chance is what make this passive interesting. End of story.

Ale non è male1 votes

Yasuo damage is yet very very low aside from the passive and the ulti. The powerspike come because at a certain point EVERY your AA worth like 2,25 AA. EVERY. Nerf further his damage or even reduce the crit damage won't change the fact he would still got that powerspike, because he would still have enhanced AA on every AA(while even ADCs have AA enhanced on 1 every 2 AAs)

The fact of having the damage of a champ tied to crit and to armor pen (see ulti) rather than on AD/AP/AS is not bad, the 100% guaranteed crit chance UPON TWO COMMONE AND POWERFUL ITEMS (because if Yasuo get 100% of crit chance with 4 items that aren't common choices because they have less base stats than the common items it would not represent a problem) and the too prolonged duration of that bonus armor pen on ulti(that should be halved) IS BAS

Just go IE, Shiv and Triforce instead.

Melts towers, Sheen procs on Q and is spammable as fuck considering your cooldowns.

What else could you ask for?

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

I don't really like that, IE statikk is really expensive. Add 3.7k to the core build is really not a detail.

BranchofSin55803 votes

Well

Yasuo is an hypercarry, is he not?

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

How is that relevant ?

BranchofSin55801 votes

It is relevant in a way that Yasuo should actually have spend more gold than others to achieve his power spike.

Like Vayne has to buy a shitload of Atk Speed.

And Koggy has to buy both Triforce and Infinity Edge to deal the massive damage an Hypercarry does. Not just a Shiv.

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

Power spikes appear at every level and so even if you are an hyper carry and it's not only relevant to items but to level of the champ too. Saying he should spend 10k for his core build is just insane and make no sense at all.

Chaotic Reks3 votes

MY GOD! YOU CAN'T REACH 100% CRIT CHANCE WITH 2 ITEMS ANYMORE?! GASP GUESS I HAVE TO BUILD A 3RD CRIT ITEM ON YAS OMG MY LIFE IS OVER! (sarcasm)

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

The point is to reach 100% crit without wasting gold in the process.

Chaotic Reks2 votes

or you can just be fucking happy with that 90% crit chance you already have

Meep Man2 votes

Wait so Yasuo can't double the attack damage of his basic attacks after two items anymore? YES! THANK THE LORDS!

Ximlee1 votes

Honestly it annoys me how they buffed the PD and not the Shiv. The statikk is literally useless on Jinx now compared the the Phantom.

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

Yeah, they should really increase the crit value to 25% and maybe increase the cost slightly in return.

Ximlee1 votes

It's extremely hard to convince myself that statikk will have any viability at this point. Adding 5% crit to the statikk is a perfect fix. I'm in 100% approval of the IE rework to prevent the snowballing to whoever gets it first, if only the shiv could actually get its sister items buff. I'm not sure if you're concerned about people buying both the statikk and the Phantom? Please provide some insight, rito.

Jinx item 3070

EffectFX1 votes

Well you can reach 100% still, you just have to add a little more crit to your runes.

This is a fully intended nerf towards Shiv + IE. They added 5% more crit to PD so if you go IE + PD nothing will have changed.

LordOfTheLeague1 votes

I thought it was a nerf to the IE rush and a way to make PD more attractive at the same time. If it's intended to be a nerf for shiv (and youmuu and triforce ?)+IE then I just hate this decision.

EffectFX1 votes

Well it certainly nerfs the IE rush, but for awhile now IE + Shiv has been highly preferred over IE + PD due to strong midgame spike IE + shiv gives. At least that's how it looks to me.

Celeste Benal1 votes

Oh, noez! Now I have to either use more crit runes, or just build Phantom Dancer instead, and get right back to 100%, because PD is getting +5% more crit chance. It is however, 300g more expensive than SS and give away the movement bonus for more AS.

Mahnigguh1 votes

The point was to move his go to item from shiv to phantom dancer. he still has no RNG it just cost more g now...booohoo
