Junglers: What's with the bot lane love?

Ben SwoIo··1 votes·914 views

I'm not trying to flame here. Maybe there's a reason. But it seems like every time I'm top lane, I'm completely ignored. Bot lane gets hugged all match. Then when top goes sour, that's when they decide it's a good time to go up. Way too late. Now granted sometimes I'm winning the lane and draw the junglers attention, which is fine. The problem is when I'm constantly ganked either forcing me to burn sums or it forces me to sit at the tower, which lately has ended up with either me being dove by them or my tower being taken easily. The lane has gone in the enemy's favor numerous times because of this. I try to ping for help but get zero response. A lot of times bot is either ahead or neutral. What's the deal?

Because ADCs scale the best with gold. Additionally if you're drawing the junglers attention up top then your jungler should be ganking bot forcing enemy bot to back or kill them, take first blood on tower or drag or both.

I don't gank top because if Shaco shows his face in top lane, most of its inhabitants will turn around, fuck him in the ass in two hits, moonwalk back to tower and laugh.

Bot lane gets touched by the jungler so much for numerous reasons

  • Bot lane tower has less armor than top and mid tower for the beginning of the game.. Meaning it's a lot easier to take down.
  • Bot lane is sometimes easier to gank because supports can set up ( Usually supports have CC or some sort of engagement think braum thresh blitz nami ) and then you have an adc like Jhin with ult + w
  • Bot lane is closer to drag than top is. If you go gank top lane you risk the chances of the enemy jungler starting drag and you can't do anything about it.

If I'm being honest, from my perspective:

  • Top is lacking in steamroll champions right now that will reliably perform if I gank, while bot is choc full of higher winrate champions that can benefit more.
  • Bot tower is faster to take than top tower because of 3 vs 2 people taking a tower, and first tower gold is still a large spike despite small tweaks
  • I play junglers who can take drag early, hence bot ganks
  • If top lane does badly because of lack of ganks, I'm sorry but it's not as bad as a super behind ADC. I can cover for a top lane deficit if it means we keep reliable dps, and I won't blame the top laner for being behind (since it would be mostly my fault). He can stay top and catch up on farm, we can play passive if we are behind.

Well, I'm sorry for your misfortune my friend. I try to come top as much as I can if I know I'm good against the match up. If not it's better to snowball the other lanes. I agree as junglers, we should go top much more often as it is neglected by the opposing jungler often too.

it basically started from dragon control early so they stick a duo down bot to cover the others' weaknesses and snowballed from there. riot tried to patch things up with the herald but really when do people every worry about herald?

1- Marksmen ( first and foremost ). 2- Dragons ( espicialy infernal one ) 2- Early tower gold

Makes sense. Thanks guys. I guess I just get a little frustrated when I'm being constantly ganked, whether it's successful or not, and I never get any assistance from my own jungler. But if their thought process is what you guys have been saying, it definitely makes sense. It'll help me be more patient when this occurs.

And also confirmation BIAS too. By chance, your jungler should come as often as the enemy jungler across different games. But the games they don't come are extremely frustrating, so you remember those better. Next time, when your jungler come and get a double kill, reflect on enemy's sour and you will feel better.

Generally speaking it is because of a few reasons:

  1. ADC's tend to snowball the hardest, and lay down the most DPS as well as take turrets fast

  2. There are 2 potential kills bot lane compared to just 1 in any other lane

  3. Dragon is bot lane and its way more important than Herald

  4. Bot turret is the easiest to take, First Blood Turret Gold can snowball your team

  5. Top lane tends to be the 1v1 lane where you are either expected to kill your opponent or if you are a tank you aren't really going to snowball off of kills anyways.

Your Jungler should go top, because if they get Top rolling they can focus on bot and it also opens up you to roam. If you are a tank and can hit that CC, they can get free kills too. Plus Herald is really good for solo laners specially most Top laners. Still Bot lane is just too juicy, they are the lane that can potentially win or lose you the game.
