Sion Tank Support; Good Idea or Bad?

The idea is this; when playing Sion as a Tank, you typically start with his W (causing CS to give more max HP), so why not be a Tank Sup? You have really good knock-ups and stuns and slows (pretty much his Q/E/R combo) You have loads of Health AND you have W passive You have tons of AD potential So why is it nobody tried it before? Also, Suggested kit (off top of head; pleas leave items you think would do well.): Starter: Mid Game: or Late Game: Combo makes sense right?

If he was spamming CS, then i can see why. The point of tank Sups is to give allies health using Targon's.

Yea, he was taking CS, didn't even buy relic, and didn't ward. He also allowed himself to be poked down without doing anything lol.

I personally didn't enjoy it at all. Jungle sion felt more effective.

Again, the build is off the top of my head. but you always have Targon's for a Tank sup

When I play ARAM Sion, I usually start Targon's so I know that it works well with him on that map, but in summoners as a support, it's tricky. Definitely dont get Phage on Sion support. You want pure tank, but you want to build some more resistances. Grab a Frozen Heart and an Aegis to max CDR and give you good stats for Sion. Maybe grab randuins somewhere along the line too. Sion support has interesting effects with lane control as you can force back minions to keep the lane pushing. And Sion has plenty of CC for your ADC to capitalize on. You can also do a bit of reverse support style play by standing in front of your own minions with your shield on to prevent the enemy AD from last hitting. Overall it's not that bad of a pick, but you will be a sub optimal Sion as compared to a Top or Jungle Sion.

I play him as support once or twice and I have to say I like it.The hard part is not to steal kills.

I've seen it be successful a few times, late game he helps team fights a lot and is a great initiator item 2045 item 3190 Health, MR, Aura and Shield for your team item 3071 Damage, health, armor shred for your ADC item 3083 item 3143 / item 3075 item 3111 item 3401 item 3050
