This picture emphasizes how I view the mana changes on PBE

For those that are wondering what the Chinese says, Lux is basically saying she's hungry.
I see what you did there.
She's gonna be hungry for mana.
Tfw Jinx has more mana than Lux.
I had to do a quick calculation because this sentence seemed so ridiculous to me that I didn't think it could possibly be true. With these changes, Lux will have 879.5 mana at level 18, whereas Jinx at that level has 1010.
What the fuck.
[sg-janna]
Jinx can also burn her manapool 2 times faster than Lux.
Jinx doesnt need mana to deal shittons of damage.
I mean Jinx is quite reliant on her Q toggle to be an effective hypercarry in the late game due to her lack of escapes and defensive tools (traps have an arm time) so she really does need mana to be effective in the late game. 20 mana per auto, and she usually hits 2.5 AS, with her passive if nothing else.
That means she burns 50 mana a second, which is a lot for a champion who doesn't generally build items to increase/restore their mana. It actually makes perfectly good sense for a sustained dps to have a large mana pool, especially when compared to a champion who is focused on bursting and backing off (and thus doesn't need massive amounts of mana to be effective) and who also builds multiple mana items.
Honestly ya'll need to calm down with the circlejerk and think things through instead of mindlessly ganging up on anything you see that appears to support the opposite side. Lets do some math.
Lux, with 45% CDR & Ultimate hat (note her usual build only goes for 40% and UH), using abilities on CD, killing a target every time she ults, and only accounting for the casting time on her ult burns ~55 mana a second. This is slightly more than Jinx uses from just autoing at first glance. However also note that Lux runs Presence of Mind, significantly reducing this. She also doesn't usually cast on CD. Lets be generous and write it like this:
Lux: Max mana use: 55/sec Avg mana use: 30/sec
Now lets look at Jinx. First lets cover her max mana consumption like we did for Lux. Jinxes max mana consumption is based on her AS, which we can get pretty high if we try. First lets assume 2.5 AS + Lethal Tempo. Lethal tempo has a 6 sec duration, 6 sec CD, and 1.5 sec charge time. This leads to a 44.44% uptime. Shame Jhin doesn't take it. Anyways I don't feel like doing THAT much math, so we will say that between that and her passive we can hit 3 times the AS cap, 7.5 AS. We don't stop there though, we can throw a rageblade on top of that, resulting in 1.5X the mana consumption due to extra on hit effects. This puts us a 225 mana per second. Unfortunately Jinx builds none of those items/runes, and so we are left with her basic attacking at 50 mana/second. (Side note I left out muramana because I forgot and am lazy, but we could get her mana burn higher.)
Jinx: Max mana use: ~225/sec Avg mana use: 50/sec
And this is why you don't blindly jump agree with what others say or shut down what someone says just because you don't like it. While Leaf on Bush did exaggerate slightly, Jinx does burn more mana on average than Lux, and Lux can barely beat a normal jinx build out by maximizing her mana consumption.
So lets all be friends and not downvote spam a fact someone said just because it doesn't align with your opinion. There are perfectly valid reasons for Jinx to have a decent mana pool, and Leaf was surprisingly accurate with a rough estimate number.
Eh i just have to say, damn nice for a post. We however dont do a race on who consumes more mana. Im just going to say it again, jinx doesnt need mana in order to deal high damage. Jinx can consume mana if she wants to deal more damage. Lux on the other hand NEEDS mana in order to deal any sort of damage. Besides just because she can consume more mana than lux doesnt mean she needs to have more mana than a dedicated mage. She can, well how can i say it, oh yeah manage her mana. Since (if these changes go through) mages have to manage their mana so should champs like jinx do to. So all in all she shouldnt have more mana.
And i didnt downvote anyone. Almost forgot, lux doesnt go presence of mind. http://na.op.gg/champion/lux/statistics/mid
Are you actually retaded? Lux's E, her core ability, costs 130 mana at max rank. She can cast 7 of those before going OOM without a lot of mana crutches to hold her up.

Tfw Jinx has more mana than Lux.
Anivia who is one of the most mana hungry champions in the game, will now drop to ~900 mana at level 18 which is about how much mana champions like
have (and Jinx which would have 100 more mana than Anivia). Though I'm not as worried about Anivia since she is a champion who builds 2 mana items, so while this will hit her hard, she can most likely get through it with some management.
But...I'm way way more concerned with some of my other picks mid lane like
who both are going to get hit really hard and might even need to buy a 2nd mana item (Though I occasionally build Lich on Ziggs)...
Also the champion with the highest base mana at level 18, is also a Mage/Assassin who wasn't effected which is Kassadin who has 1537 mana at level 18. So now Kassadin is going to have almost 2 times as much mana as other mages. Seems....odd lol
Hoo boy, just a straight nerf to mana and regen accross the boards?
It's like they are actively trying to get everyone in the game to just play scaling AD & Tank champions.
?? What are you talking about. They are.
so i need to brush up on my talon right?
How are you going to react when I tell you that Lux has a minor rework's worth of changes coming soon?
Are you going to mention that those changes are most likely going to force her into support role?
Well, I never once liked reworks. So I'd cry.
Saw the changes, immediately don't like them. I do not like the idea of making her E slower and smaller.
Where can I see the changes? Can't find them on surr@20. I was thinking to come back but after all this ap mess I didn't even bother updating the client and now that you say E slower and smaller I'm even more worried...

Of course you wouldn’t like e to actually be dodgeable 🙄, never mind it would allow riot to buff her damage to allow her to waveclear and be more viable overall, can’t takeaway that undodgeable e spam
Actually, yes, I would not like that. I'm a level 7 mastery Lux, FYI.
And it's less about the smaller radius and more about the slower projectile speed. That is REALLY feelsbad.

doesnt change the fact that you lux players seem to desperately want a buff, but riot cant because shes shackled balance wise to the fact that her E is undodgeable and buffing her without changes to E would result in her being too oppressive in lane.
Me too [sg-soraka]
My mains don't seem to suffer the same but I upvoted for the picture xD
