Riot is hurting LCS, hurting the pro players

Lioncourt06··2 votes·711 views

SKT T1 was using Graves JG, now with the new nerfs that he recently got, what next? now they have to re-adjust all their hard work into making Graves work in their composition or replace him with another JG, this is not good, how would you feel if our pro players stop playing champions that Riot nerfs? it's frustrating and then in LCS we dont see Graves or other champs anymore... i mean this is a joke, how do pro players adjust to significant balance changes every 1-2 weeks, that's fkn stressful, oh and Fiora got hit too.... nobody is going to play her anymore i mean... c'mon

Riot keeps stepping in and poking the gameplay ecosystem affecting pro players, LCS, and most importantly, US

I'm willing to bet that the pros understand that this game flows. They're ability to adapt is what got them there in the first place. Besides, who are you to speak in the place of others?

That's fine if you disagree, but let me ask you this: how fast do you want pro players to adjust? the current state of balancing is every 1-2 weeks there are SIGNIFICANT changes, a lot of pressure is put into these players/teams to adjust, and i think it's not healthy and i dont think its good for our players and LCS, even us, just recently XinZhao is in god status OP, is this the things you like from Riot? LCS had people playing Graves and Fiora and both got hit by Riot.... now they have to adapt, it just doesent feel right...

I mean this isn't anything new. Champs that reach pick/ban status in LCS almost always get nerfed. Good teams are able to work around this and find new champs that work.

Right, but at some point you cant expect them to adjust to 1-2 weeks of balance changes, they cant anymore, this is the first time in League history where significant balance changes are applied every 1-2 weeks, that's too much, Riot needs to leave it alone for months so that LCS survives

They have been keeping the "patch approximately every 2 weeks" schedule for about 2 seasons at least now.

LCS has been doing this pretty much since it started

And these pro players all know all the champs, and can easily change champs.

If you think they don't know who to play in case their op preferred is banned/changed then you don't know how good they are.

the system wasnt as unstable as it is now, every balance change affects LCS, do you think it's fair that skt's jg has to play a new JG now that Graves took another hit? maybe it's expected for him to adjust, but that's not fair... we gotta take care of our pro players, not abuse them, yea im with you taht they have to adjust for anything but with the current way Riot is dealing with balance, it's hurting EVERYONE

Graves and Fiora NEEDED to eat shit though.

so much so to ruin the balance ecosystem? you know who's broken now that graves and fiora are gone? XinZhao . in 1-2 weeks xin will be nerfed and another champ is going to take his place, is this how you want the balance team to act? i dont

That was FIXING the current balance ecosystem.

Except it's impossible to do so.

Look up a little something called "perfect imbalance", it's a balancing strategy used in MOBAs because you can't make everything even. There's nothing else they CAN do because true balance isn't a thing.

the problem is the rapid rate of balance changes, Riot needs to slow down and nerf/buff every few months, u gotta give the players to work things out sometimes, we have 130 champs, 1-2 champs cant be ruining the balance ecosystem

Nerf/Buff every few months?

Adaptation is a PART OF LIFE. We have to deal with it. There's always going to be that "ruining factor" when in truth it keeps the game in check and actually playable.

OK, Riot is doing that. How is that a bad thing?

the problem is the speed of which they are making significant changes, how is it healthy that for 1 week a champ is in god status, a week later he's trash and nobody plays him, then another OP champ replaces him, and the cycle continues, 1 week of a new meta over and over, it was never like this before... before there were slow balance changes and everybody was happy, the system is too volatile right now and unstable because of the increasing balance changes from Riot

I would love to see some data regarding the speed of patches and intensity and amount of changes.

I wouldn't blame Riot for stuff like this, it's all the people that watch the LCS and then play only champions they see in the LCS. Anytime a champion who almost never sees play randomly gets picked in a few LCS games then everyone else picks them because they just want to play what the pros play.

I'll just stick with my usual champion pool of Anivia Shyvana Kennen Lulu Aatrox Akali Varus Velkoz

Implying these professionals haven't dealt with and adapted to way more harsh changes in the past
