I need a bigger support pool

Tarp96·1/3/2016, 11:21:59 AM·1 votes·2,017 views

I have started to main support, and I want a bigger champ pool. So I can play in different ways, and some supps synergize better with some adcs than other supps and so on. My current support pool is:

Alistar (I am not good with him) Annie (Can do ok with her, simple click and stun) Blitzcrank (My "best supp", dont have any trouble with him) Thresh (Bought him 3 days ago, having tons of fun, but could use some tips if u guys have some)

Now, I dont have much IP, so I will use Thresh for a long time. I want a bigger supp pool, so I an play in different styles and I like tohave an big champ pool. I dont quit know who I want, but Bard and Braum look fun and they are different to what I already have. But I have hard that Bard is hard to use, and I only started with LoL last september. What do you guys think? And does any of you support mains have any tips and tricks to help me out? I like to be an Vision control support like Yellowstar :3 You can suggest other supps too btw!

TahmKench Leona NautilusTaric , tanky supports with great CC and some nice damage, something like Alistar Sona Soraka Nami Janna for healing/shielding and overall saving(good Janna as well as Thresh is a bane of all Rengar/Diana players and most other assassins, and Soraka is like a cheat for lanephase now) Morgana is a great support for kiting/peeling, also great for combos with Jinx(traps), Cait(traps) and Lucian(ult) Brand Velkoz Karma Zyra for "If enemies can't dodge skillshots-I will solo win this lane even if my ADC is afk, and later I will be just a second APC"(something like Annie), not recommended if your ADC is good As for Bard-I personally think that he needs some coordination with your teammates for great E ganks and ults. Hint: try to take his W(heal) at lvl1, and put 2 heal spots for your jungler and 1 for midlaner, they will thank you later. And when you roam for chimes-put a heal for your midlaner somewhere under his tower. I personally seen a situation when this thing saved my midlaner from Ignite

Taric

I super recommend this guy in the current meta. You are often up against lots of AD, and he's relatively easy to use. The hardest thing to do properly on Taric is weave autos with spells to get full advantage of your passive. If you get excited and blow too many spells in a string, then you lose a lot of damage.

If you don't have much IP I'd consider Janna or Soraka (Soraka being simpler).

They're both cheap (1350 ip and 475 ip respectively), Janna is a peel queen with lots of utility (although timing shields and ults require practice), Soraka has crazy sustain. Both fill roles that aren't already covered by the champions you play. If you're good at hitting the 1-hit wonder skillshot, Morgana could be a good idea (also cheap, 1350 ip if not mistaken).

Bard's difficulty lies in A) not screwing team over with ult and B) he relies on coordinated play more than most other supports. Not fan of his style but you could wait for him to be free to try him out and see if you like him. A lot of people think he's a blast to play.

I guess it really depends on what you like playing. When I play support my favorite thing to do is save allies from imminent death so lately I have really been enjoying Braum Kayle and Soraka. If you like roaming and getting vision control you probably want to play a support who has good CC so you can gank for other lanes. Bard and Braum both work well for this. Other options are Brand Kennen Leona Lux Morgana Nautilus Sona Taric Thresh and Zyra

I've been playing a lot of support on my channel. Feel free to check out some games to see the champions in action. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2EZm50wNGmfJal7IHM_b8Q

If you want something fun, buy Bard. He is incredibly fun to play.

Try Poppy support

She can also be played as a jungler or toplaner.

General idea is a bit similar to alistar you have tons of peel and decent harass in lane with the passive shield.

Also once you hit 6 you can turn ganks around real easy, If opponent jungler ganks just knock away the opponent laners and kill the jungler do this twice and he will never gank your lane again.

The roams are also quite good.

There's quite a lot of supports nowadays aside from the champions tagged as support, I personally love playing Skarner Singed Trundle as supports! out of the three I like Singed the most :P but it's really hard to pull sometimes.

You need a proper tank in there. Could be Alistar if you put in the work to get better at him. (Lord knows I've never managed to pull him off...) You should also consider Braum, Nautilus and Tahm.

You definitely need to get Soraka, Morgana and Janna. All three are super cheap (450, 1350) and very viable depending on comp.

If you want to go for a strong kill lane (and don't play with an ADC that will complain about "ksing!!!!!" if you bring a heap of damage and happen to get 1 out of 3 kills...) then look into Malphite.

And last but not least - Lulu - is the most OP support ever.

Fiddlesticks believe it or not makes a nice support with his utility and nice mana regen from item 3092. Also, it's off meta so people will heavily underestimate you.
