Is Lethality good on Irelia?
With the recent buffs to lethality, is it better to take lethality runes than ad runes on Irelia?

Isn't she more of an attack speed person with the W true damage? But then again, lethality on early spellblade procs... Beats me :P

Never thought of combining lethality with spellblade.
It would be a much Burstier build, but it would probably work, if you were going for a more Assassin esk playstyle.
Thanks guys, I was just curious with this new lethality meta.
You're better off with attack speed reds and flat damage on quints with her for farming. You can replace those quints with lethality, but lethality is only really good on runes if you also get items with it; Irelia will not.
Further explanation -- the amount of % damage you block with armor reduces as armor increases. formula is 100/(100+armor). Meaning if you're able to reduce someone's armor to 30 from 45 they will take 23% less instead of 31% less damage. Reducing it by an additional 15 armor to 15 armor from 45 means they take 13% reduced damage.
As you can see the first 15 lethality pen only reduces armor by 8% while the second 15 reduces it by 10%. In other words, if you're gonna take Lethality runes; you need to build lethality item and commit to that build.
Okay, I got it now. Thanks, I didn't know about its math. :P

From the looks of it, Lethality runes are not that good on her, being beat by AS runes.
Although going for Youmuu's as second item seems really strong.
Oh jeez someone made a thread on lethality Irelia when lethality was first released. I THINK their build was
(I assume they had boots before late game, I just don't know what ones) and they were killing a level 18 adc with q auto.
This was like 2-3 months ago now so I'm a little foggy on specifics, i just remember that juicy 1500-1600 damage q proc.
