@Morello/Ghostcrawler - Why does New Sion have drastically less base health?

I don't really understand why you gave Sion drastically lower base health when his strength is supposed to be having great heath scaling. This essentially forces me to build even more health to make up for the fact that he has a much smaller base HP pool. And his HP gaining mechanism from his Soul Furnace is really low to me. IT forces me (when I play jungle sion) to purchase a Spirit of the Ancient Golem so that I can make up for these losses. I feel my choices are drastically less because of this.

To my understanding, Old Sion was easier to play because he had higher damage and higher reliability due to his point and click CC. But New Sion is infinitely less reliable (not a bad thing but something to take note of) and massively lower damage potential, but higher potential for CC. I would think that Sion's lower reliability would give him a bit a lee-way in terms of how you distributed his base stats.

Honestly it just feels like you took too much of his HP away. And here's what I don't want to see either if you do make changes.

1). Do not give Sion more base HP and take away from his HP scaling. This is a classic riot move that I see happening. Just because you buff something doesn't mean you need to compensate for it. IT's like what you guys say about nerfs and we expect compensation for nerfs, that nerfs don't need compensation. Same thing goes to buffs. It's a safe bet that buffing Sion's HP isn't going to increase his damage directly. He'll survive longer so he can deal more damage. But I don't see this as a problem, as I don't see any glaring abuse cases for sion.

Because something had to go.

Why is it so hard to understand?

You have infinite health scaling.

Veigar has infinite ability power scaling. You don't see him paying for that in the same area of ability power.

And stuff already "had to go". He lost his point and click stun, and in-fight sustain, and lost massive damage. Basically he lost reliability.

Theoretical "infinite scaling" =/= Practical "infinite scaling"
