Why are no supports considered for large-scale game play work?
: Solo queue monster that just CAN NOT be nerfed enough, apparently.
: Functionally sound, but really uninspired and dry in execution.
: Fucking annoying when she's good. She's good when she has hyper-carries to boost into your nose. Can't really play around anything she does outside of "hit it more" or "hope I don't get stepped on now that I'm a small forest critter".
: QTPie himself had to talk to you guys about his ridiculous W. Yeah, he doesn't gain MS towards enemies, but that's kinda minor when he's a support since he's in the back or middle of his team with his squishies, anyway. I wouldn't even want a major rework, but I'd love some power tweaking so his W was less of a massive "fuck you" to nearly anyone and anything.
: No one thinks she's good for anything until she's too good at everything. Regardless of if she's good or not, she feels like she's fucking garbage all the time, and that wreaks of game play design that's unrewarding to play or play with for most of the population of players. There's extremely little skill expression to balance her around, anyway.
: Flex pick mid, so she only half counts, and she's only confirmed eventually because of Kayle, who left the support role ages ago. Worst part? She's probably the last person I'd give major work to on this list.
: Man looks like an N64 game. His passive just makes him way better in the mid lane. Him being a flex pick is fine, but how that's being accomplished atm is just clumsy.
: Unless she's freaking bonkers, she feels like she's hardly able to do anything, period. You can't stop anything from happening or start anything up. You just heal, and healing kills you while people kill you.
: Only good when her burst rotation puts you in the hospital just by thinking about it. Outside of that, she's usually the last tank support on anyone's mind. She's like Blitz where she's strong early and her whole kit is dedicated to a strong pick, but her kit sends HER to FIVE ENEMIES, rather than bringing THEM to FIVE ALLIES. Of course Leona's gonna fall flat when Blitz is literally "Smart Leona".
Like, we got PLENTY of space to fix some discontent with the support roster that's been piling up over the years, but as far as I can see, Riot doesn't have a single thought to tackle any of them in the near future, or even foreseeable future. Why? I don't like it. There's very few supports people ACTUALLY appreciate these days, like Rakan (even if they're salty), Bard, Thresh, Braum, and Nami. Why does no one care to really fix this issue? Hell, who knows? Maybe by improving on some of the more lacking designs, like Sona, Leona, and Soraka, you can take the edge off of supports like Janna?
And yeah, I made a thread calling out assassins that leap without looking, but I'm a fair guy, so I'm able to double back and call something like this out. A lot of people don't appreciate the game play of support champs these days, as it's really 1-dimensional and doesn't really allow them to work around what they do. Not saying shields are bad, but some champs are just entirely defined by shit you can't work around, like Janna and Lulu. Sure I can be hard on assassin players for not being smart about targeting, but I have to agree with them when it comes to how little one can do about some of these supports. Other supports here, however, just feel bad to play in 2018.
