Can someone explain to me why Twisted Treeline gets absolutely no work done on it?

The last event I remember seeing on Twisted Treeline was when they reworked it, but then after that, maybe one or two events that weren't really popular with anyone. The other three seem to have events and stuff for it a consistent amount of times, but I notice that Twisted Treeline is pretty much dead in the sense that no one really plays it, and there is no Riot work being done on it, or even maintaining it.

Even the featured playlists get more love than Twisted Treeline. I don't know if Riot actually works with Twisted Treeline at all, or if they even care to even acknowledge Twisted Treeline. Twisted Treeline in the League of Legends family feels like the adopted child that is stuffed in the cupboard and given the bare minimum food required to survive. If Riot doesn't really care for Twisted Treeline at all, they should just scrap the playlist altogether and just place it in the Featured Playlist, since it's probably taking up server space.

Can someone explain to me why Riot doesn't seem to actually do a thing with Twisted Treeline?

Edit: I feel that there are too many problems both mechanically and actual customer support-wise (lol on this) for Twisted Treeline. Honestly, Riot knows that Twisted Treeline is the adopted child they stuffed in a cupboard. It really seems Riot doesn't give a damn about Twisted Treeline, and if they don't, they should just cut it off like they did with Dominion.

I'm also still waiting for a Riot employee to explain why Twisted Treeline seems to be neglected to the point where it's essentially a ghost town.

TT players beware, I bet it ends up going the way of Dominion (rip)

TT keeps getting buggier and buggier as well, specifically with matchmaking. After every game, you get stuck in the lobby and have to queue for a different mode, drop the queue, then reform your group to queue for the next TT game.

Also getting worse is the "waiting for stats" bug where you don't get any LP credit for games. This has happened on 9 wins and 1 loss for my team in the past month alone - 4 wins this week. I calculated the difference that made in our tier, and our bronze 1 team would be nearly silver 3 now if we had been credited for wins instead of only losses.

Not to mention the fact that there are hidden champ-specific nerfs on TT that are completely outdated and unnecessary, and they are no longer published anywhere for people to know what they are.

Meanwhile, champs that dominate TT and could use map-specific nerfs are left to run wild. Of all the champs in the game, Syndra and Singed get longer cooldowns on their ultis.

Riot doesn't care. TT will die off on its own once people can no longer even reliably get LP for their wins.

Personally I liked the old tt it just needed a few tweaks. The current one is rather tiny theres almost no jungle. Escapes and chasing are harder because the map is very elongated meaning the faster person wins. The items aren't updated has frequently as summoners rift's. And I'd imagine with all the invulnerability ults team fighting is just not an option in some games. And if you thought towers on the rift were weak tt isn't any better. I get its supposed to be faster but you don't have to be the tankiest or most damaging person to take down a tower in one go. Hell cait can take down the first one herself because she outranges it.

Theres just not much to fight for on the map either its just alters which is go to their respective teams until one has a clear lead and vile maw which again goes to the team that is winning unless you can sneak it.

The playerbase is tiny. Idk why, but that probably shoos people away from it even more. I personally love treeline, but I get it. My 3's team was diamond last season and we consistently went against challenger teams, and gold teams. It was rare for us to go against a team with a similar mmr, simply because the playerbase is so damn tiny. Anyways, where I'm going with this, is that Riot probably doesn't see treeline as a priority for work being done on it because they think it would hardly affect anyone.

Riot's always had an absolutely terrible track record for supporting Alternate Maps. League features are often missing or significantly delayed (e.g. minion projectile update, brush sway, Champ Mastery), and item changes are rare and sometimes undocumented. Furthermore, ARAM's never gotten a champ balance patch that wasn't spillover from another map, and Riot outright removed Dominion rather than support it. Treeline's actually the best supported non-SR map in terms of updates, though ARAM gets more advertisement and promotion.

ManWolfAxeBoss is still working on Alternate Maps stuff when he has time away from SR, but ARAM's slated for the next update. Things aren't likely to improve beyond that unless players can somehow convince Riot to stop neglecting Treeline and ARAM.

Unfortunately, Riot's historically been incredibly evasive and vague about improving Alternate Maps. Every time players ask about improvements, Riot admits that they've done a bad job supporting non-SR modes and that they're discussing possible options to fix that. Every time, nothing comes out of those discussions. At best, there's a month or two of updates before Riot goes "Eh, that's good enough," and support disappears again.

The current situation slowly arose over years, yet Riot is seemingly unwilling to attempt to fix it for more than a few weeks.

What is a "Twisted Treeline?"

Is it a new game mode on PBE?

*EDIT: Im joking, but it makes my point. Not a lot of people playing it, so not a lot of attention is paid to it.

Bring back the pre-rework TTL!!! OG TTL FOR THE WIN!!!

The new TTL is designed for bruisers, and the rest of the champs can F off

If the OG TTL isn't good enough then make it a 4v4, but don't leave this crap version of TTL

me and my friends only played OG TTL when they reworked it we were forced to SR

now my 2 buddies quit playing LOL altogether. They would still be here if OG TTL was never reworked, FACT!!!

because the map is being dominion'd they did it to dom, they can do it to whatever they want now.

It's a vicious downward spiral. Tragic, honestly.

Since the dawn of missions, and their lack of participation when it comes to TT, TT has seen little to no development. If only Riot, enlisted some incentive to play TT though missions, then we could see interest in the game mode being generated.

In tandem, a lot of champions starting from Rengar IMO, began to have abilities with map dependencies. Which is what you see nowadays with the likes Talon, Qiyana, Kayn, Azir, and Ivern, whose kits tend to favor SR over TT. Like the value of usefulness is much higher in SR than in TT. Particularly due to the lack of camps/structures/terrain their kits can interact with.
