How can I go about climbing the ranks to gold?

Glîtchy··1 votes·1,194 views

I main jungle and secondary top,

And these are my choices for each position:

Jungle:

Twitch (my primary) Trundle Hecarim Jax Nautilus Evelynn Kayn (rarely ever used)

Top:

Yorick (primary) Trundle Darius Nasus Singed (rarely) Poppy Dr. Mundo Nautilus

I just need help for trying to climb to gold, I can’t seem to pick up the slack when partners run it down their lane whenever they get autofilled or some shit, I can use any assistance/advice to climb

if you want i can do a vod review and go over what you're doing for improvement. I'm d3 and been coaching junglers all season. More of a hobby/community contribution to a server so no charge.

There's a lot of factors regarding climbing that is harder to paint the full picture in a thread, with your jungler pool there's multiple playstyles you have to adapt to (for instance, twitch jungle is actually really weak and relies on early cheese ganks, after which he gets vertical jungled hard and invaded constantly, assuming the enemy jungler knows this. On the other hand you play evelynn and kayn that can setup ganks fairly well and solo stomp carry ganks while adapting to different patterns such as rubberbanding, vertical jungling, etc.), so its hard to pin point what mistakes you're potentially making when there's several factors and you could be repeating any one of them as all of them. With can win and climb with all of them, especially at that mmr, but just food for thought.

Then there's other things like intuition, tracking, knowing who needs help, map awareness, free XP/gold opportunities missed, mentallity, etc.

if you got twitch then you can stomp all the way to diamond.

well, for jungle right now, vision, and constant pinging helps. try to keep drakes warded when up, same with herald, and when you get a kill lets say with the team, ping them to help with the drake or whatever is up. Basically, you have to move the team as a unit through proper vision and timings, and if they follow, great, if they don't wait. If a lane is feeding, focus on other lanes, and I dont mean completely ignore the feeding lane, just tell them to play safe for a while. Try different routes out, be creative with that, for example, I go red, scuttle, gank if i can, next scuttle, blue, gromp etc etc. Figure out what works for you. Another tip, when a laner recalls, like, lets say mid, if the wave isnt pushed when hes at base, push the wave, hard push it, so it bounces back to him by the time he walks back to lane. Scuttles are high priority for vision, simple. Control ward first drake, get whatever drakes you can, all of them are good, the small buffs can make a big change, even if its not noticable. Help laner get towers when you can, like, lets say enemy top laner recalls, and you are near toplane, and lane is almost being pushed into enemy tower, go chip that tower if possible. Convert kills into objectives, you guys just killed enemy midlaner??? start herald or drake with numbers advantage of 4v5. ping ping ping. Never flame teammates, try to emote a lot to show you're chill, ask how they are in pregame lobby to get the good convos going, get the team communicating. Never flame. Ever. Try to be supportive with words. PRAISE your team when they do something good, it boosts their confidence and play. When they do bad, dont call them out, just say oh well, no problem, dont worry, etc. Wards are important as I already said, ask teammates to ward areas like rivers when you are opposite side of map. idk what else to say. try to get the team moving as a unit is what I usually do.

When I go Twitch, I take red then go for an early gank mid, sometimes I get a flash out, or I get first blood for my lane/myself (I only take the first blood if partner is near death or enemy is about to get away) then I take scuttle (sometimes I steal the 2nd one from the other jg and possibly kill said opposing jg)

Now I'm not by any means a gold player (ideally i think a person above gold could help a person in the same rank as us) but I was within a few games of gold last season.

Honestly, from how many of my friends play this game and have hit gold+ some even diamond. The most common response is that once you've peaked its just grinding several hundred games to continue to climb (or whatever number of game it takes). You have probably noticed there isn't a clear cut way of getting gold that easily, and there will probably never be such a way.

You can abuse certain champs and get to gold (IE annie (60%~ winrate average if you put in like 10 hours into the champ means you can probably get out of gold in less than 75-200 games, or garen) but thats really boring and un-fun. Other than this sticking to champions if you maintain high winrates and have put time into (im guessing ur twitch or trundle?) will eventually get you out as well.

But that honestly hasn't answered your question, you've probably heard this hundreds of times over and over again. The miracle tip that I've found to best effective is to just be positive and having the selfawareness to stop yourself from playing when you are tilted. After losing a single game take a break and detilt (a loss will almost always leave you tilted and make you perform worse). When you encounter inters, the main reason they decide to int is because they are sort of encouraged to through general team negativity, if you act nice and kind it sort of helps to detilt them and can sometimes land you a win.

Im sorry this post was sort of useless, tl;dr give up soul and git gud
