So about 10 bans...

Starting in the preseason, we will be getting 10 bans per game. One for each player on each teams.

I think this is a terrible idea. Instead of balancing totally broken champions, we will just be banning out a 1/13th of the games cast. Meaning even more people will be permanently denied playing the characters they enjoy. Honestly, I don't think there should be any bans. Instead, I think they should fix the broken, overpowered champions. And overall balance better.

In low levels of play, bans are simply used to compensate for personal counters people don't know how to face, so they will never learn how to face them. In high levels of play it is used to target somebody and remove all their main or strong picks from the game. In all levels of play it is used to compensate for shit balancing that leaves some champions so OP, that they must be permaban to keep the game fair.

This is an insane system to work on. We don't need more bans. Pretty soon all the fun or popular champions will be unplayable.

I play Ashe. Instead of fixing the fact that she wasn't suppose to have a hypercarry damage steroid. Riot left her for all this time so OP that she is permaban. Who actually bans Fizz or Yasou? the ones I see are Ashe, Sona, Hecarim, Zed, Darius and Blitz most of the time.

Cracked me up. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking the same thing XD.

People say they want more bans because "x champ is op" when they dont realize they just suck ass and fed someone. The bans are fine. There will always never be enough bans because you cant ban out every champion in the game which is what these players need because they suck plain and simple. There isnt an actual good logical reason to increase bans.

One for each player on the team..? 10 bans.. 5 players on one team...??

Shadowatom3 votes

2 teams...

DeerGreenwood2 votes

"on the team." Team. Not teams. OP should word that better. Maybe "One for each player." instead of "One for each player on the team."

Or we could use some common sense, that helps too. You are right, but you shouldn't need it to be that obvious either.

I suppose so. I guess it's just the grammar n inside me.

they said looking into it, and will not to pros when considering it. It is not a sure fire thing it will happen

Bans are officially around for banning a player's best champion or a key champion that would do well against your team comp (both perfectly valid, competitive reasons), not just to get out those "op champions" that exist

Idk Champions keep going up but bans have not been.

Considering that all the champions share the same pool of items they can buy, rune setups, and masteries, it just makes sense that there are going to be champions who will become broken, even though those things like new items or masteries are completely balanced for 90% of the champs who use them.

In other words; The game gets harder and harder to balance the more champs they release. (and I don't think gutting or reworking every champ that becomes too strong is good,) having more bans makes sense because they can allow them be banned for a while, until they go and change the items and whatnot again.

Could you imagine being a Kassadin player when he was permaban for an entire damn season at a 95%+ ban rate?

Sure, but that is probably the biggest/longest running outlier regarding bans in the history of league. His kit was just overloaded (what with that silence and all) and thats why he got changed, him being strong didnt really have anything to do with item changes or mastery changes that have happened over time.

Overloaded

Kassadin: Range silence Mana restoration Slow Flash

Ekko: Slow Stun Movement speed Short range dash Teleport strike Self healing Long range teleport Execute

If old Kassadin was overloaded, then who isn't overloaded?

Jinx: Attack speed steroid Range steriod AoE Snare long range slow Execute global rocket

Old Evelynn: Stun Stealth Movement speed Self heal

Oh, and Kassadin has been seeing more and more top end play because well... He still instakills people.

But Kassadin and my personal annoyance about everybody thinking that silence is the most powerful CC in League.

But, there's this huge point that you're missing with the OP's post. I started playing Kassadin in season 0 because he was a melee character that used magic, and because I love that he's this hero that's using the power of the void against itself.

But then season 3 comes around and I literally can't play my main in ranked because he's 95% pick/ban rate. I mean, that seems like fun...

so what's your point? I feel like this has nothing to do with 10 bans vs 6 at this point.

Good thing i like playing un-popular picks XD

I'm okay with it, for now, as it is preaseason and if Riot promises to revert stuff if it does not work out. However we need to ban one, choose, ban, choose, etc or something like that to avoid said scenario. Or you just ban the busted champs that we have had in the extended preaseason that only recently ended about a month ago XD.

Also, we are having to use those extra bans to ban new champs ppl have yet to learn to counter or yet to learn to play. So i think, for now, since Riot hasn't done much until only a bit ago balanced things relatively well (and we have new skins comiing out, which might explain the Ez buffs, which i dont think are needed). So once we get over the suspicious buff for OP Ezreal to throw wallet at screen, then maybe we won't need so many bans.

Totally agree. Except it's unreasonable to ask that they just balance all champs since it's an ongoing process that just can't magically be fixed. Too many variables contribute to champs being considered OP for there to be a "just fix it" kind of solution.

About the 10 bans though, I totally agree that it's a bad idea. Zed, Yas and Fizz mains are probably never gonna get to play their champs again because we all know they are going to be permabanned.

The only champ I think it's reasonable to permaban is Leblanc. That champ is just so unfair to play against.
