I think I know why people don't catch the new Ryze

I personally think the new Ryze is a Burst mage that relies on CDR. item 3165 item 3285 item 3135item 3030 item 3089 item 3158 oritem 3020 CDR per level Glyph Flat AP Quint Magic pen Marks Health per level Seal

I tried the standard old Ryze build and felt like it doesn't fit his playstyle, the DPS is lower but the burst damage is higher. And you want to abuse his R to jump infront of an aDC and burst him down.

He is squishier than the old Ryze but he does more burst damage than the old ryze. a E,Q can do about 1300 Damage in 1 cast when you follow this build.

He is almost like Annie but with a lower cooldown rotation.

What happened to item 3027 item 3040

I don't think he is a late game champion like before but because if you follow my build you can hit a huge powerspike.

He still scales off mana and AP. item 3040 should be core. His passive gives him mana based on AP. This item gives him AP based on mana. I'm not sure why you didn't list it.

RoA is much better than Hextech GLP. While Deathcap is nice, it's hard to find room for it. The current core is RoA Seraphs Morello Void. You have one spot left, and versus a full AD team, Frozen Heart (with something other than CDR blues) is nice. Otherwise, GA gives the tankiness and security for fights. Luden's is nice, but again, GA for security is better unless the enemy team has no way to get on you. Seraph's is better than Luden's too, seeing as it gives 1k mana and ~170 AP and a massive shield. It's actually insanely good when you consider the interactions with his passive. Mana gives more AP. AP gives more mana based on your max mana. More AP gives more mana. So you get a little more than what is advertised.
