Scryer's Bloom and melee champions

[problem] There is a problem positioning yourself right with melee champion to proc SB in intended direction in comparison to ranged champions. This may not be a big issue in normal situation but plant is really hard to proc in needed direction with melee while moving. Geometry. Moving 1 unit to the side in melee range will change direction by 15°. While moving 1 unit from 100 units distance (ranged) will change direction by 5°. Numbers are abstract but you can get what I mean if you didn't understand what is the problem. http://prnt.sc/db7cte

[solution] Allow melee champions to proc SB (and blast cone maybe) from bigger distance.

is it really that much of a problem?

i never really think too much about aiming the scryers bloom i just like

"i wanna reveal dragon/red/whatever" and thats about it.

Dont really try to aim it super hard or anything

It's not a problem of aim. The problem is - game makes a specific champion type better in global mechanic for no reason. It's not like "if melee champion procs SB he will get extra radius for tradeoff of not being able to direct it correctly" - it's just "melee champions are handicapped with SB - live with it".

It may not seem as a big deal for you, for me, for some bronze/silver/gold player but if I notice it high elo and pro players will notice it even more.

highly, highly, .. highly doubt it.

I mean, I suppose that they may notice it, .. but I honestly doubt that it will confuse or frustrate them, EVER.

I didn't say anything about their frustration. I said they will notice this difference more then you and me.

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

This is such a tiny issue.

What you want to say is "If I'm constantly stepping on a nail on the floor it shouldn't be removed because it's a small nail. And I'm ok with stepping on small nails".

It isn't difficult to control at all. There is a very clear indicator that shows exactly what area will be revealed, and the cone is wide enough that a few degrees is not going to matter.

So what I mean to say is, you're asking for a complex solution to a simple problem, that isn't that much of a problem at all.

Problem is not control. Problem is moving 1 unit aside in melee range will shift sector for bigger degree then moving 1 unit aside from 100 unit range for example. So marksmen and mages have advantage over melee champions for no reason.

I read and fully comprehended your post. I also understand math quite well.

The fact still remains that the "problem" is insignificant and would require more resources to "fix" than it is worth.

I am confident that you and maybe a handful of other people are the only ones worried about this.

Millions of other players have already accepted this as it is and will not lose a second of sleep if Riot doesn't do anything about it.

How do you know if it's hard to fix or not?

Elite4Runner1 votes

Because they would have to have a conditional adjustment to the attack range for melee champions.

It would be like the code they use for Ivern while he is in a bush to extend his range,

but it would apply to every melee champion

and the bush would be an invisible ring around the scryer's bloom

and the code would need to prevent the champion from targeting anything other than the scryer's bloom with the additional range

What are your occupation in life? I'm a programmer and I don't see a problem. I mean you cannot say for sure whether it is easy or hard without working on actual code.

The only real problem there can be is discrepancy between attack animation and proc range. Though it needs to be tested to see how it actually looks on different champion. And this is another thing you cannot predict or calculate in your head.

Elite4Runner1 votes

Oh cool! I'm a programmer too!

...

Actually, I'm not, but anyone can say that they're a programmer without any evidence to back it up.

I do however have some experience with programming and I honestly don't believe that you are one.

The reason that I don't believe you is because coding has very little to do with animation and how something looks.

However, even if that was really all there was to it, as you said, it would require extensive testing on EVERY melee champion, as well as identifying what problems that it might cause for ranged champions.

So we are back to the fact that this would be a much bigger headache than it is worth.

I genuinely believe that much of the community agrees with me when I say that I would rather have Riot dedicate their resources to something other than making sure that melee champions have the same few degrees of accuracy when procing the scryer's bloom.

You don't need evidence for this. I'm explaining you a thing you cannot understand because you lack experience in this domain.

Elite4Runner1 votes

If you say so.

There is still nowhere near enough concern about this for it to be any kind of focus by Riot.

You have a 0 vote and I am not even the one that downvoted the original post.

It was. Now you have 1, which still isn't saying anything.

Well it says. It says that someone cares. :)

Well it says. It says that someone cares. :)

Yeah, it says that an equally small number of people felt compelled enough to weigh in an opinion one way or another, ultimately canceling each other out.

It doesn't matter how many as long as someone cares.
