@Riot About making Ohmwrecker viable

Dehitay··4 votes·408 views

I think the primary thing holding Ohmwrecker back is the fact that it's just straight out worse stat-wise than its competition. Currently it gives 300 health while all the other armor + health items give 500 health. It's also 2650 gold while the rest are 2900.

I feel as if the best solution is to increase the health on the item to 500 and increase the total cost of the item to 2900 so that it fits in with its competition. You could even change the build path from (Raptor Cloak + Kindlegem + 650) to (Raptor Cloak + Kindlegem + Ruby Crystal + 500) so the build path makes more sense.

If this somehow makes the item too powerful, you could always nerf the time on the active from 3 seconds to 2 or something. I think having better stats is more important on making this item viable than protecting the power of the active.

don't think this will work

the main problem with the item is that it's active is generally useless.

compared to item 3512 for example, i could write a 20 page essay on all it's uses it's unbelievable what you can do with that items active. use it as a portable wall, use it to make wall wider and spam ctrl+4 as your enemy wallflashes, an extra ward on demand, the minions give vision too so put it near blue buff and see them take a detour to midlane giving vision of your jungle a part of river and the sidebush of midlane use it to defend vs sieges, use it to siege yourself. use it to afk push a wave. There are so many many more uses for it, it is crazy.

Is it always reliable yea sort of not in all it's uses sometimes you can manage to waste it but this is offset by it's sheer versatility

then there are other item actives like the shielding items item 3190 item 3401 they are always good and reliable in any situation where you are about to take damage, whether that's team fighting, tower dive or defending, blocking poke it's always good and it's super reliable and it scales nicely balanced into lategame.

item 3056 active reverse scales, it get progressively less useful as the game goes on. you can buy item 3068 to gain extra defense and damage or ohm wrecker. Either way the defensive stats alone will allow you to towerdive anyway. so in a sense the item already works against itself, though with it you can now do an extended towerdive which you will need because you didn't gain damage like you would from sunfire cape

Then as the game progresses there will be less and less towers to disable untill the active is essentially worthless less towers makes it less usable and more tank stats make it less needed.

If the active had more uses like zapping an enemy champion to ground them and reduce their damage output, basically making them more vulnerable then it would stay good throughout the game. If it in addition to zapping an enemy champion it could also be used to buff your own turret like giving it a shield + splash damage as long as that shield persists then you got yourself a wonderful usefull item active which doesn't become progressively more useless as the game goes on.

It's stats are ok tbh

item 3512 can be used to escape as Nautilus

It counts as a wall for the purpose of his Q grab

Hehe... That's useful, right guys...?

yes for example or pick it on Poppy and place it behind them when you charge in to stun them, kill them and then use it to take down their turret with it

And as you pointed out, it acts like a wall, so you can block Nautilus hook with it too :) Or block Sion ult for example

Or use it together with your pink ward and trinket ward to trap a diver under your turret . Redirect an enemy melee who is chasing you by dumping it in his face and blocking him. Or put it in front of you to gain a speed boost. So yes it is one of the most useful items in the game ihmo.

The item active may be useless, but that's the whole reason that the stats shouldn't be. Hell, between Randuin's and Ohmwrecker, I think Ohmwrecker has the more useful active, but Randuin's is still built cause it has good stats. If Ohmwrecker has a competitive 500 health to go with its 50 armor and 10% CDR, a lot more champions would be building it. Especially manaless tanks and health scaling champions like Zac, Sejuani, and Volibear.

ohmwrecker is too niche of an item to ever really be that good unless it's buffed too much

it's very good on some champs but by the time you finish it you could have gotten another item with better tank stats and just tanked turret anyway

The problem is that eventually Ohmwrecker becomes usless. Eventually you run out of towers to deal with.

What I think it should do is actually be turned to a "Neutral Objective Control" item instead of Towerdive item.

Change the active to something like this

Unique Active: Smite Immunity - Target Target minion, monster, or pet, and make it immune to smite originating from the enemy team for 1 second.
