Honestly, what on Earth are hitboxes?
I know there are many, many misleading animations to hitboxes in League but this one was just simply ridiculous.
There is a clear gap and I still got hit. Actually what.

small indie company
Diana's Q has a circle at the end actually. If you play her you can see it in the indicator. The problem here is the visual effect doesn't match it at all.

That's extremely misleading.
The animation for her Q doesn't show the circle that is supposed to be at the end of the skillshot. Small indie company btw.
There is no element of height in the LoL's mechanic calculations, only east-west coordinates and north-south coordinates. LoL is coded as a 2D game, as in, in the system's eyes, LoL is a completely flat game like a chess board.
The "hitbox" of anything in the game, is an invisible circle UNDER the unit, used to calculate if a for instance, directional targeting (skillshot) or ground targeting (AoE) hits the target, by checking if the circle hitbox under the unit is hit.
To balance the size of the hitbox circle under the unit can be tricky, not too big and not too small, just right. But then again, we have Riot's particular brand of hitboxing that often leaves people scratching the heads, but oh well.

Fancy explanation or not, that ability hitting is a joke. It was happening all game and the only time Diana ever missed the Q was either when she was aiming for something else or if out of range. That insane hitbox made side-stepping impossible.
Diana's Q DOES HAVE AN AOE attached to it's end, additionally the AOE probably hits if it hits the edge of a character's hitbox, along with the bad animation for the spell not showing the AOE attached to the spell.
Yes, play
and see her Q indicator. It has a kinda big AoE circle at the end, but for some reason the animation doesn't show it
