Not sure how I feel about this new Urgot change.

Yet again I find myself subject to a main character of mine being changed. Only thing that disappoints me is the fact he is NOTHING like his original self. No displacement ult or damage reduction, no on hit slow....and here's the biggest irony I see.

"His shield gives him slow resist but lowers his base movement speed"

I mean he can then also ghost through minions while freely attacking the nearest target (or purged enemy) with 3.0 attack speed (albeit with modified damage so it is not completely ridiculous) for 4 seconds. But sure just ignore all of that and boil the skill down to get shield but lower movement speed.

You kidding? His E is a displacement skill superior to his previous ult. If you want a slow, you can now build frozen mallet on him again - like we used to do back in Season 2.

He no longer needs damage reduction - he has been given a kit that synergizes much better with various defensive items, which also lets him build the resistances he had to ult for in the past.

Also, didnt his Q slow a little? Or was that removed?

Q still slows, pretty hard at Max rank too.

There you go!

Actually that E is no where near superior to his original ult. The range is as far as R1 and gives no damage reduction. R3 had further range than Thresh Q, was great for making picks on enemies who were too dumb to get that close without a team.
