Randuins needs to be applied to Gankplank's barrels.

Funkin Dunkin··149 votes·4,298 views

There's no reason that item 3143 shouldn't be applied to a skill that, not only ignores defense, but is an area damage that can also produce critical hits. Those barrels might as well be true damage the way they are set up and there's no way to counter them what so ever other than a lucky shot to hit it first. That crit reduction needs to be applied to his barrels as well when he's multi hitting 4 people for 1k+ each with 1 skill.

I'm pretty sure randuins does reduce barrel damage.

Also, the barrels only ignore 40% armor on their own, if they're ignoring more then it's probably because the gp itemized penetration and/or is running penetration in his runes.

GP isn't even anywhere near broken, why should he be nerfed?

New Randuins doesn't. It only applies to basic attack crits. They specifically nerfed that aspect of Randuins for some stupid reason. It doesn't work on Anivia E anymore, either.

Votable Jester9 votes

Well as far as I'm concerned, it really shouldn't work on Anivia's E as the spell says it deals double damage, not that it crits.

Sp33d Zer05 votes

That's.... that's what a crit is.....

Votable Jester6 votes

If all of a is b, is all of b a? That's the situation. A crit is double damage (not counting IE/runes), but double damage is not necessarily a crit.

OyddAWqJ5r5 votes

So what you're saying is that item 3057 is a crit?

Sp33d Zer01 votes

No, because sheen is ONLY base damage.

OyddAWqJ5r2 votes

item 3100

Sp33d Zer01 votes

Spellblade passive =/= sheen. item 3078 item 3025

Sheen HAS the spell blade passive, but the passive changes depending on the current build it's in.

OyddAWqJ5r2 votes

Double damage =/= crit.

Double damage SOUNDS the same as crit, but what about effects like +50% damage or +300% damage or even perhaps double base damage?

Is Warwick's passive Criticallly Striking when he's below 20% health? No, it simply deals tripled damage. Same goes for Anivia's E. It is dealing doubled damage, NOT critically striking. The only reason it is read as a crit is because that's how it was coded so the little "!" would show up by the damage numbers.

If his barrels could crit then I would see an argument for this.

Salron23 votes

I am so confused by both this post and the op

Irelia Bot2 votes

I just took at guess at what OP was saying and somehow thinks that barrels crit.

Last I checked his barrels could not crit.

Salron54 votes

I main GP Yes they do lol Have you never seen him crit for 1k on a squishy lategame

It does work on barrels though, just not the bonus damage to champions only that barrels have The rest of the damage on the barrel coming from Q/AAs does get reduced though

Joxcab3 votes

Oh, my bad then. Ignore what I said.

Irelia Bot3 votes

Well that would explain the huge inconsistency of their damage output.

Rule number one of an argument. Never admit you're wrong. Only admit your opponent was right.

"I may not be right, but I am never wrong"

I do that at others times.

That's an interesting name for a GP main lol Not saying that you're lying, just genuinely interesting

General Esdeath 2 votes

They can crit though. You just have to crit on your AA/Q that triggers them.

Hige4 votes

uhm I wonder if the barrels should be allowed to crit altogether... they already ignore defenses, that's true damage

Skelenth25 votes

They ignore 40% armor. That is Armor Penetration.

Hige7 votes

ooooh Only 40% I thought it was like 100% :S my bad

JavelinJoe1 votes

Still though, ignoring 40% + and additional 35% from item 3035 is 75% armor ignored

AL00011 votes

Wrong math

40% of total armor 35% of bonus armor

for example champion with 100 armor without any armor item

100- [ (10040%)- (035%)] 100- [40+0] 60

100 armor will reduce to 60 armor

for example champion with 100 armor AND 50 of armor item

150- [ (150 X 40%)- (50 X 35%)] 150- [60+17.5] 150-77.5 72.5

150 armor will reduce to 72.5 armor

GP's barrel is so strong... therefore need to nerf to 15/20/25/30/35... but riot doesn't want... blame riot and testers.

source:

  • Poweder Keg explodes dealing the attack's damage as physical damage (ignores 40% Armor) to enemies
  • Last Whisper: +35% **bonus **armor penetration.

Literally the only reason to play GP is because of his damage. His early is shit to the extent that it requires specialized builds to function in high elo where you encounter decent junglers. League also NEEDS tank busters. Nerfing his barrel pen is just going make GP unplayable.

Literally the only reason you play most champions isbecause of their damage lol.

Tanks, supports, utility mages

Really though, many champions are chosen for how they apply their damage. Ranged vs melee, dps vs burst, flat vs %, phys vs magic vs true, etc.

Sahn Uzal3 votes

I'm pretty sure she's trying to say that Gangplank doesn't really provide anything other than damage. He has no hard CC, no team utility etc.

Serika Zero2 votes

he has a global ult that slows............ and can clear waves from the other side of the map sry bro, that's team utility along side with his damage

gankplank provides: safe wave clear - important if your mid laner is an assassin global pressure zone control and cc slow

along side with his damage. you got no clue how much i hate that his ult slows >.> and it has nowhere near the cooldown of a Khartus or shen ult for example. Because building CDR is normal for him. Shen or Karthus usually go for a no CDR item in their first 2 items. Such as Tear+RoA. Or Sunfire+Titanic Hydra. The only CDR item shen gets its his Spirit visage and that's it. And the only CDR item Khartus usually gets its zhonias.

GP starts with a 20cdr item and then rushes a 10cdr item after it. Like sry, but, GP provides more than just damage.

That being said, I don't know what they can nerf anymore without making him unplayable.

Sahn Uzal2 votes

I'm just saying that Theorchero probably tried to say that.

I'm not gonna bother argueing here with you. People here don't want reasonable arguments, or have an actual discussion. People just want to please their hateboner and whine for a bit. Which is fine, but trying to have a discussion in a thread where most people do not want to have an actual discussion is just a waste of my time.

Serika Zero2 votes

if your argument is that "GP provides only damage", that argument is false from the beginning you can't make a reasonable argument regarding that. GP is not Mastery YI

Sahn Uzal2 votes

I'm not making an argument at all.

Doesn't Randuins reduce anything that uses the Crit symbol? I know it reduces Ryze and Karthus crits, and I assumed it did the same for GP.

Supreme Senpai696 votes

Old one did new one only works on basic attacks

FantasySniper2 votes

If they don't, I'm pretty sure that's a bug.

BladeSteel4 votes

It says in the description "reduces crits from BASIC ATTACKS". New change.

BladeSteel7 votes

THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO IT JUST GOT CHANGED IN THE TANK UPDATE. Look at it in game instead of spewing 2 year old "facts" that no longer are true. It says IN GAME "reduces critical damage from BASIC ATTACKS by 20%"

FantasySniper2 votes

You see, we as a community stopped trusting things like "in-game descriptions" a long time ago.

The patch notes only address it as "critical strike". There has been no indication by riot that they changed its interactions with spells.

Alright, forums, which one of you changed the tool tip? You jokester.
