I'm calling it now remember folks. The more edgy character will win in 99% of all of Riot's future VS events. Does Riot have a solution to this?
Why not make them more neutral in theme or do two of the same theme for an actual chance of the other side winning.
If you want the win rewards, pick the egdy character, plain and simple. It really takes out the fun of the whole vs event idea.

I think it has to do with the players' personalities. A lot of league players are jerks, so they pick the bigger jerk of the two.

I don't care about theme when I pick a side. I pick the side of the champion I like playing more which just happened to be order both times.
its not like darius has a bigger fanbase or anything close to that. it must be due to the edgy teens voting for the edgy champ instead of people voting for the champ they actually like

For me personally, I joined on the side of Darius because God-King Garen is kind of a douche. For example, he has a taunt for that goes something like.
: Why worship the son when you can worship me?
I, like Darius, just wanted to see this God-born asshole knocked down a fed pegs.

the events should have a repeatable mission you can complete after every game. that way each side could feel like they were fighting every game for the side they chose instead of the current system that's more like a vote than a war.
edgy? I choose darius because evil being evil, is better than evil pretending to be good. I am sure Dolores Umbridge is hated more than Voldemort.
If they did Ahri vs anything she would win hands down even if they had the edgiest skin for the edgiest character.
Every single time they have an "order" side, the "order" side is shown to be wrong by Riot's writing. So.. It's rigged on both ends.

Because riot's writing team can't write a compelling narrative for shit, so everything defaults to edgiest edge lord wins.
I miss the freljord event, at least with that one there was no icon that I couldn't grab just because of the community choice. Same with the bilgewater's one, the icon I didn't want was my choice only.
The vs event so far as the same problem as the old new year event (trynd vs riven vs diana), community have the last word and you can end up with an icon you didn't want with the one you like being gone forever. That's just plain bad as it alienate a part of the community
We just need to hope that, for future event, they will move away from those "wining side icon" and replace them with something else (maybe giving the icon for clearing all mission from one side, and moving the emote to the end of event reward, with still BE for wining side)

I really don't understand this in reference to the most recent versus event (godkings) I took one look at a few of Garen's quotes in the pre-game load screens and.. he sounds like a fucking dictator. spouting shit about "his will is law, do as he says or you die" etc.
why.... would I ever vote for that? its not that I like darius more, I know nothing of his beliefs as godking darius; I just hate the concept of a god-chosen dictator a LOT.
I dont know about others but for me it definitely wasn't "picK dARiUs hE EDGY" its that Im not voting for another trump inside league of legends ya feel?
All of the events feel identical tbh. They're ALL good vs evil with nothing in-between.
