Can we stop acting like Support has a "Notice me senpai" problem?

I mean, obviously it's not the star of the show all the time, but that isn't why people dislike support. Junglers aren't always the star. Or the mid laner. Adcs tend to be meta victims more than they're stars at this point. Top is...top.

It's not like everyone's circle jerking and patting themselves on the back at the same time, right? Sometimes you're the star making the plays, and sometimes you aren't. There's more to the popularity of a role than just "People noticed I did a thing". It's foolish to pretend like acknowledgement from players is the reason why people don't support. I imagine fixing support's real problems will fix this problem by proxy, if anything.

Supports love supporting atm, They have a huge impact in the game.

Nobody looks at supports the way you said they do.

"Because people that already play support like support, nobody has ever used the excuse 'The only reason why people don't support is because they don't get recognized for their efforts'".

I don't want to bm you but just note I should have.

It's not so much what you state, as when you engage and/or CC everything and then the ADC or someone lands a multi-kill while cleaning up after your engage and proceeds to get praised as if they 1v5ed the entire team. I've had instances where my mass CC allowed the ADC to get a triple. They then started taking credit and the team stroked their e-peen and actually ridiculed me for saying it would not have been possible without my CC because I wasn't the one landing kills. It's shit like that that pisses off Supports and that's why we want some acknowledgment when we set up great plays.

Yeah I feel ya man. It is a little annoying when you keep your idiot team alive with peel/heals/shielding etc but because their score is 5-0 and yours is 0-5 (kills-assists) they strut around like peacocks.

It's something support mains deal with though, knowing what you did and not worrying about the praise. I'd rather rank up than stroke my epeen.

So lemme get this straight:

You and your adc make some plays. Team is feeling good...REALLY rallying around the success. You pipe up out of nowhere to start siphoning some praise, and it backfires.

So you aren't pinging a tower, a baron, a dragon, a retreat, some farm...nothing. Just trying to get your team to pat you on the head? Most of the time no one else is stooping this low for recognition. You do your thing, you keep it moving. Why bother piping up about it to begin with? It's not like they went like "And don't forget that TOP LANER that landed that ult! And that MID LANER with the ap damage! And that JUNGLER WIT DA FLANK! And that's it! :D :D :D". Land your shit and keep it moving like everyone else. Or does everyone have to stop and congratulate each individual person involved in a multi-kill just for support specifically to be fun?

We don't need other people's recognition we know when we screw up and we know when we carried just like anyone else.

The problem most Supports have is that people have a slanted view of the role. I don't care if people give me credit for what I do, I'm going to do it anyway. My problem comes from situations like: We shove lane to tower. I leave lane to ward river and dragon pit, because that is my real first priority. My carry picks a fight under their tower and dies a fools death, then flames me for not helping. Or: I spot the enemy jungler at my ward near scuttle. I ping. Carry doesn't care and proceeds to push. I ping two more times. Carry doesn't listen, so I back out on my own. ADC gets wrecked and blames me for not helping, even though I warned them three times to get the hell out of there.

"I can't give you what you deny yourself."

Well that's just the duo lane lifestyle. As much as we know that adcs tend to be the toxic brain dead man children on the team if anyone, it's not like supports can't fuck the lane over either. Those are duo lane woes, not specifically support woes.

But with that said, I feel for you all the same.
