I've been seeing people going no jg item lately, is this some kinda twitch or Youtube trend or what?

Some of the ones I see in your match history are Ivern, which makes a lot of sense since he doesn't need a jungle item at all. Others, like the Yis, I'm not entirely sure why they got rid of their jg items.

While I haven't looked at their match history, I'd imagine that the Yi's decided to rush Blade of the Ruined King rather than upgrade their jungle item. It seems like it would provide a better power-spike (and sustain) than Bloodrazor or Warrior.

The problem with that is your now-useless smite, though, but I guess it makes sense. I'd rather get at least the item without an enchantment before rushing something else.

You mean no jungle item at start or by the late game? Late game that's understandable (especially with a Warrior enchant) but I haven't come across anything like that in the early game.

Starting only with one of the 2 jungle starters to get the xp then selling it late game and taxing lanes a lot is an all in snowball strategy.
