Maybe the game isn't that bad, AP carries just feels really painful to play

AP Carries are no longer carries. You might as well call them mid lane supports. I feel that this is the most frustrating thing about the game right now, at least for a mage main.

They are there only to provide magic damage so the opposing team does not stack armor.

They are also usually picked just for their CC. I can't help but feel that the AP item nerfs are a consequence of Rylai's Crystal Scepter buffs. (very powerful slow)

In the LCS, mid laners are either AD assassins or utility mages. The only 'damage-oriented' AP carries that come to mind are Viktor and Cass. But Viktor is mainly picked for his waveclear, which is being nerfed next patch.

Riot said we should make threads that allow discussion. And threads shouldn't be set up to shoot down an opposing argument.

I only have 1 question; will AP mages have their power returned in the near future? By power, I am referring to damage. Either through item price reduction or something else. And yes, I know there are a few exceptions like Brand and Lux.
