I find it funny

You guys loathe VGUs and large scale reworks...but the champs we complain about being under-powered and left behind by the times the most are champs that could use large scale reworks.

Take Garen, for example: We've gotten to a point where pretty much everything on him except Q has been reworked at least once in the past two years. He's STILL garbage beyond low elo stomping, though. Why? Because the base kit is just done. This base kit was around since forever. It's a long time coming, and I know we got fedora tippers out there that'll say otherwise, but yes, old kits like Garen's and Annie's don't GET to be as cool and strong as newer kits tend to be because older kits have way less counter-play, and thus have way lower skill ceilings. Sure, some new kits gotta get Azir'd, but MOST of the newer kits fair way better in this game than the old ones do, or at least are more manageable than old kits are. I can tell you right now we'll never see a day where Master Yi or Xin Zhao are strong champs that we're even moderately OK with. The moment they start to become meta like they did in the Devourer days, there's gonna be an endless stream of hate on these boards. Why? Because Yi and Xin (especially Yi) are just ticking time bomb stat sticks. Same for other older kits. I guess folks like Leona exist, but is Leona a decent champion right now? No. With all the new shit supports can do or make use of, Leona's kit just has her fly 5 miles in to get peeled off by the first hard cc thrown at her so she can die and get trampled on by her allies. When Riot decided to "fix" her...they cut her all-in damage and ruined her early game in exchange for spamming Q. Hmm...playing with cds and hoping it'll make the champion better? Sounds like Nasus, huh? Let him spam Q and hope it makes him better. Didn't work for Leona...and they do it again for Nasus...and it doesn't work!? WHAT?

Some champs just need more work than that, and those champs tend to be older champs.
