So how did Akali nerfes even affect her to the point of needing compensation?
I'm an Akali main (you wouldn't notice looking at my mastery scores because I branched out to try other champions, but she's still my main girl) because she's super fun to play once the game gets rolling. Great mobility, damage, sustain, good art and I even like that moment when I'm like, o crap they bought a pink, because I lmao. The only thing I hate is my pre-level 2 when I can't safely farm because I either don't have range or don't have my shroud to melee farm, she really needs both to do anything in lane. But what did they actually nerf on her to make these buffs possible? -She can no longer proc her q with her e-In big teamfights I can't even use e anyways because it burns through my energy too quickly. I might get to use it once but spamming it is begging to run out of steam mid fight R range nerf- After her big nerf patch I played her before reading the patch notes, noticed my e wasn't working in early trades so then I read them. In the game I didn't even once think "Wow my ult didn't quite reach him wtf!?!?" And so for compensation: Now she gets super split puch power with her super spam e and lich bane procs, on top of her super good passives A cool dash through effect that completely eliminates the e proc effect because now I'm guaranteed an auto attack after my ult. And people still think she's really weak. Which brings me back to my point before the nerfs: She's super good and fun, but by no means over powered. She hasn't been OP since S2 when she was literally one shotting people with lich bane procs alone, then killing someone else with a q-e at the same time.
