The When to Dodge and When to Not Guide
Definitely dodge: -when nobody is willing to compromise in champ select (if they won't compromise in champ select, they sure as hell won't in game) -when there is already an argument (I had a game where two people wanted to go top and started raging in champ select, and I would have dodged, but I already used up my free dodge. Guess which 2 people went AFK during the game?) -when someone says they are going to troll. (they might not, but I won't take the risk) -when there are 3 or more red flags
Red flags: -all 5 members of the team have a high kills and low assists average. This is a sign that there is nobody on the team who actually knows how to play tanks or supports well. -you know that two people on the team don't get along (i.e. from previous games with those two people). this might not mean anything, but could easily escalate -team is missing something (like no tanks, no AP or AD) -enemy team seems to counter 4 or more of your team's picks -teammates don't like each other
Don't dodge: -if there is a nonmeta pick. Usually people who pick nonmeta pick it because they have used it for many games and are experts at it. -if someone picks a UP champion (same as above) -if you don't get your role. If you dodge because you don't get your role all the time, and the people in your tier know about it, they will be less willing to compromise with you in the future. For example, if I wanted mid but mid and support are left, I could support if 5th pick really wants mid. But if I know that he dodges every time he doesn't get mid, I won't give him his lane because that's not fair to the people who waited so many games to get their role and then got dodged.
