So let's say I play 3 roles in LOL...

Back in the halcyon days solo queue, most players had a main role, 2 back up roles, and 2 lanes they hoped they never got. So moving in to the dark DQ age, old school players (those who started playing the game before this year) have a bit of a problem. We've got 3 roles we can play but only 2 choices. Some of us like playing all 3 roles even if we main too. Now me, I like getting support, mid, and jungle. So which role do I not choose when I'm willing to play 3 of them? Fill isn't an option because I really don't want to get ADC and the only top champ I know how to play is Irelia (buy TF, ???, and hope you win).

So could riot change up DQ so you have to pick 2 roles, but there's a 3rd option available if you want it?

The ideal structure would be for the player to rank all roles from most desired to least desired, and then have the search engine attempt to match the most desired roles within each LP division together.

Not everyone is capable of such an exhaustive ranking, and there are many who only choose a single role. Such blank entries could be construed as giving permission to the game engine to fill them out according to need.

This would be fine by me. Another thing I'd like is if riot would give players 10 points and let them weight each lane (max 5 points per lane). Each point gives you a 10% chance to get that lane.

I think many players had Support as a backup, but the new draft system locks you in as a Support if you even hint you'll be OK with it.

Honestly, when playing by myself I think I prefer Blind Pick now. I can fill to get random roles and not be locked into Support.

Yes, that's the other problem. I like supporting but I don't want to do it all of the time.

Or just add a random option(because fill = supp mostly) and add checkboxes to both the random and fill so you can for example fill while excludeing top and adc.

I thought about this before, I think one way to make DQ better is instead of choosing the 2 roles you want to play you should have to choose the 2 roles you dont want. So if you dislike adc or top you should say hey I don't these place me in any other role please. This could help with queue times and allow more people reach out to more roles.
