How Is This Balanced?

My one friend, the Bard, isn't ranked yet, but his MMR is in the Silver range (1,193). So tell me how our team's MMR was high enough to draw a Platinum 5. Usually whenever I check the in-game info in OP.GG the MMRs for the teams are within like 20 of one another. They had 253 on us. This sort of thing shouldn't happen, correct?

P.S. I thought it was only against the rules to post names when you were doing so to badmouth them in some way, but apparently not. I literally am saying nothing about the people in the match and showing the names provides nothing that people couldn't find with a quick look at my OP.GG. There aren't even stats for the game here. It's ridiculous that I have to cut out the names just to be able to post a valid balance concern without it being deleted.

team builder is different mmr so it will be different .and yes it is stupid that you have to hide public info names, i could look you up right now and find them but riot doesnt stop that?

If you're playing a champion in teambuilder that you have not really played much before then it lowers mmr to compensate for the fact that you might not know what you're doing and you're trying to learn a champion.

As what KayJay said, when you play a new champ or role in Teambuilder (even if you played the champ before, if you are just now playing them in TB), it adjusts matchmaking to account for that. It probably should account for if you have played the champ before in blind or draft to account for something like what you friend had to go through

I personally don't think it should adjust your competition that low, though. Yeah, a plat's gonna learn a ton facing 3 bronzes and 2 silvers.
