Malz needs a rework

Just saying. His kit is the kind of kit it's either useless or it is an unstoppable terror, it has no counter play before you're rich and safe enough to build a certain item other wise he can just delete someone off the map with no fear of reprisal. It's binary, it's boring, it's not fun to play as or against. I used to like malz, played him back in the day. But he really, really needs a rework...that way he can be allowed to be strong again as well. Now, how would the rework look? No clue, not a designer. I just know he needs it.

I personally think he's fine as he is. Yes, he's extremely strong at 1v1, but a QSS will turn the fight in your favour. In teamfights, he's not as good. He silences and usually does damage to one target. He won't be able to ult because you will become extremely vulnerable for an easy kill. Also, don't forget magic resist always helps.

Malz is one of my favorite champs, and i'll say this: he's not exciting, but he's not binary either. He simply has a play pattern, like all champs.

Binary would be like Kat: she's nowhere to be found or she's just killed you, one or the other. Whereas with malz if he gets fed he can be a terror in teamfights OR 1v1, but if he's really behind he can still push lanes by himself and contribute to teamfights with his aoe and dots.

He has clear strengths, clear weaknesses, and a healthy counterable play pattern. I personally would love to see some cool buff to my fave laner, but I don't think he, in any way, needs a rework.

Maybe some QOL changes but Malz for the most part is fine imo. Also aside from his E his entire kit has counterplay, his silence is very telegraphed, you can move out of his W, his minions are unliable to attack you unless there's nothing else around or he got close enough to use E, his ult while strong in a 1v1 leaves him a sitting duck if anyone else on your team is around, and if you have QSS then suddenly he's literally just sitting there. And teamfights tend to be his biggest weakness, people will almost never stay on your zone, the silence is difficult to land on more than 1-2 people unless they're clumped, and try ulting a carry in front of their team; unless their team is stupid you're gonna get pounced on.

He needs something his voidlings aren't even relevant now they used to be something now they die in one hit so why even have them at all.

You know what would be cool is if they made his voidings scale ap or more often. They never seen to spawn on a champion lol

Riot seems to be ok with binary gameplay. Look mordekaiser rework. Either you have the damage or he kills you. I think he's outdated but he's not gonna be changed

I personally enjoy playing Malzahar. Maybe he is binary, but being patient and waiting for the perfect ult can make for a nice reversal. It's deadly, but you can't just throw it out willy nilly unless you want to get blown up. Besides, it's a channel. Anything from Kassadin to Leona to you panick mashing r cancels it

Also, the fact he can be played AD to some degree of success is cool if you ask me.

No way malz is one of my mains. He does exactly what he's supposed to if you think he needs a rework your playing him wrong. Max your e kill minions, win the farm game. You don't need kills to get fed if you deny farm. Q when needed. Drop. Void zone and if they stand on it ult. My favorite combo is when Udyr thinks he can kill me I drop void zone where I'm standing q then e and ult. Dead
