No really some one tell me how to beat him... I have tried very one..Rengar,Fiora,Darius,Tryndamere,Jax,Yi,poppy,Teemo..No one works..some idiot told me Gnar can but that must have been a really bad pantheon..because..Gnar is worse then Ashe.

So tell me how to beat him. because if I see one more pantheon today I am getting sion, and udyr and steam rolling my way to gold.

If you can't beat him with Darius , then chances are its more on you as a player.

First of all, Gnar is not considered a weak champion, This is a misconception coming from lower elo. Second of all, when you lane against a pantheon, your goal is not to win against him early. It is to survive early game and then out scale him How to do it is the question: 1- You can start with a more defensive option and teleport( for example cloth armor +5pots) 2- Let him push in early while staying out of poke range and within exp range( you will see the wave push to your turret by 3rd wave. 3- Freeze it at your turret and ask for a jungler help if you see the pantheon trying to poke you UNDER the turret or near. 4- Use tp to buy more pots and offensive/defensive items depending on the situation 5- Make sure you understand when your champion outscales him by that point, you will be the one to control the lane.

I always pick Renekton into Panth when I play top. It's thus far worked for me every time, his built-in durability and inherent sustain especially with Q outlasts Pantheon's mana and the table turns immediately after. I save W to interrupt Heartseeker.

Most (if not all) of the champs you listed are actually pretty poor picks against Panth. In general your goal should be to just survive the first few levels without falling too far behind.

Tanky champs with some form of sustain typically work best. Get a cloth+pots and just aim to survive until 6. Panth's ult is typically not that useful 1V1, and at that point matchups become a lot more even. Good news, you don't need to really win lane, jsut avoid losing too hard, Panth is not known for his late game strength.

Darius lvl 6 $hits on pantheon even darius is brain dead and 50 minions and 5 kills behind...panthen have no ulti to go toe toe with darius how in the hell you lost as darius vs pantheon? plus darius is one of the champs that can build tank and still deal damage...i am pretty sure is not that pantheon is freelo is that you dont have any idea how to play the champions

What's the strategy for beating him if you don't have a counterpick? Once you're within leap range his damage is guaranteed.. He relies on mana but so do a lot of other top laners. Farming under tower is all i can think of but you're still susceptible to spears and you'll lose lane eventually lol

Copying a post that a wrote recently in a separate thread. It was specific to beating panth as jax but I go into much detail on how to win a game vs a pantheon.

{ For some reason I can't get the forums to formant the whole post the same as item 1 on my list (every time i try to add a space it just ends the list, GG boards)

You should not "beat" pantheon early. ESPECIALLY as jax. Here's how to beat panth overall:

Start cloth armor, 5 hp potions.

Pantheon harasses with q primarily which does physical damage and so the armor helps to lower that damage.

Panth uses a lot of mana on that harrass, the 5 hp potions will help you to sustain through the early harass and make him go oom, or spam less.

Run teleport. This allows you to get back to lane after taking a lot of harass, heal up and not miss much cs. This also allows some counterplay to his ult. If he goes to ult mid or bottom lane you can teleport in to clean up kills / protect allies Be EXTREMELY careful at level 2. At level 2 panth (especially with ignite) is REALLY easy to get kills with. For level 2 especially, and really from 2-5 be more concerned with keeping up in levels and last hitting under tower. (yay teleport) When you go for a cs, he either keeps poking you low with spears, and then flash q stun auto ignite q for the kill, or he trades with his passive and stun(which resets the passive, with almost no practice you can block 3 auto attacks in a row at level 3, or 3 of 4 at level 2). When you DO trade with him there are important things to remember.

His stun instantly brings his passive back up. As jax remember to auto him to remove his passive, and THEN w for the extra dmg. He crits when you are low health (both autos and spears) This means DO NOT TRADE with him in lane if you think that he might be able to get you low. Drink those potions/heal up. His ultimate is almost useless for trading (if you dont stand in the ring) When you both hit level 6, you get a huge power spike in the form of another ability (usually) while he gets a ganking tool. If you have been keeping close in trades, you might be stronger now, but at the least you can farm much more aggressively. The strength of his passive gets less and less as the game goes on. (one auto becomes worth less for your overall damage output) That's all I have for now.

EDIT:

Not positive but I believe that as Jax if you get stunned while your stun is up, it still goes off. If you are afraid he is about to jump/stun you, active it. You will take less damage dodging the autos, you will take reduced damage from his aoe e, and you might be able to stun him in retaliation. }

If you think Gnar is trash, then you haven't seen his win rate. Plus he is a very contested pick in higher diamond.

Speedkat10/24/2014, 12:29:03 AM1 votes

Pick Yorick -> win. OR Pick... anybody tanky, buy Cloth + 5 pots, build a chain vest -> win (if you can't farm up 720 gold with cloth 5... you either got hella camped and it wasn't Pantheon that won lane against you, or you're a terrible Darius player, or the Pantheon is extremely good)

Brenticus1210/24/2014, 12:29:30 AM1 votes

Pantheon's early game is stupidly powerful. What you do is survive lane, protect your tower, don't feed him and maybe if you have a chance, kill him with your jungler's help.

Most champs outscale him post mid-game.

I will have to try these tips out next time I am top lane. Thank you for the tips. and I have never lost lane to Gnar. And my Elo is low ,but so is 60% of league of legends.

Just pick Singed my man.

EndlessSorcerer10/23/2014, 10:18:05 PM1 votes

Pick Taric against him in lane, rush Iceborn into Sunfire Cape. Enjoy the Pantheon's tears. Just make sure you don't waste your Passive or Sheen autoattacks on his passive shield.

Also, Pantheon counters maybe half the champions you listed. Look more into ability dependent, tanky, sustain champions.

Burgee10/23/2014, 10:34:25 PM1 votes

Singed.

Always pick Singed.

Nucleophilic atk10/23/2014, 10:35:20 PM1 votes

Play Nasus. Just turret farm and play safe until you reach that point where Nasus has his 1.5 items and shits on everybody in lane.
