Pyke In ARAM Is Annoying Beyond Belief

Seriously, no champion kills the fun in ARAM more than Pyke. He can easily slip away from fights with his W, and attempting to punish him will almost always be in vain because he can just regain a majority of his health back thanks to his passive. And god forbid if anyone on your team goes slightly below half health once he reaches level 6; he completely ruins the excitement of teamfights because he can just execute everyone low on your team in no time and grant a kabillion gold for his teammates with minimal effort.

Pyke is a prime example of why removing ARAM bans was such a terrible idea, because he is quite frankly pretty obnoxious and unfair to play against.

Honestly, most of the recent champions feel mistakey. Like they decide on a gimmick and refuse to change on it, Zoe? Let's give her RNG summoner spells and a easy to hit stun that deals true damage! Pyke? Let's make an assassin support that shares gold and can execute targets easily with a reset! Sylus? Let's make a champion who can steal ults and then not balance him correctly so he's either pathetic or obnoxious!

I just wish Riot would take a breather and stop pushing out cool ideas for the sake of having cool ideas.

Before sylas, there would be joking talk of a champ who could steal ults but we always laughed it off knowing that would be way too much power for a realistically balanced champion kit, the utility of being able to access 5 different ultimates (often the highest power budget ability in a kit) is a lot of power, and then of course sylas base kit has a free dash, shield, heal, waveclear from 2 sources and a gapclose.

Youre right sylas was also a mistake as was Zoe W (otherwise i can live w/ zoe E/Q and massive poke/1 shot potential)

Edit- At least yuumi and Quiyana are relatively balanced, Quiyana has a lot of stuff but once you know what she does its reasonable to play against her, and yuumi may be annoying with her untargetability but thats arguably balanced around the easy doublekill if you kill who shes attached to.

Yea, for Sylas when he was released he was the most annoying bastard ever. Went against him top lane and he kept spamming abilities with no way for me to retort. Then when I got my power spike, he gets his even better.

Zoe was just stupid. She's just an overloaded character with too much mobility, one shot potential, and free power.

I just witnessed a Pyke in Aram a few games ago and I can underline the problem with Pyke in Aram. He is way to strong for a single champion compared to every other champion in Aram.

I got pyke in Aram like 4 games ago, easily one of the easiest lowest effort Quadra kills of my life, literally no matter how deep I went in they couldnt catch me, I remember Mordekaiser started ulting me exclusively at one point only to not be able to touch me for the full 7 seconds

I think ive played aram about 9 times this week? And there have been abooouuuttt 7 pykes. Its not a fun time. I never really cared for aram bans since they were making balance changes to aram but this has just become insane, i understand now.

His Ulti is made for destroying team fights, has a tiny cd on his q mid to late, will not run out of mana if he takes summoner 13 , heals everytime he hits w, gets tons of gold from r, and is overall just far to strong on that mode along with a few other champs. Pyke Anivia Xerath Ziggs Veigar Velkoz Soraka Tristana Fizz MasterYi and i might be forgetting a few.

Sona , wonder if Swain is still good, Blitzcrank Sion (he busts towers like a champ with his passive and demolish) , Heimerdinger KogMaw Tryndamere (without a metric ton of crowd control, he just bashes towers )

Yeah they over stat him in this mode way to much by the buffs they gave him in normal game play but not only that, they buff him in aram to! Like holy crap it is so obvious they do this every time they release a new skin. its really unprofessional tbh

Playing favorites making the game even more unbalanced than it should be. He a shinning example of a champ that should of never been made & was the embodiment of season 8 bad choices.

I been seeing Poke mages & burst mages are starting to build tank items & it's really ruining things in aram as well.

Totally agree. I don't hate his aesthetic, I really like it actually. It's just his general gameplay that really puts me off.

Funny, I avoid Pyke now.... Mainly because I can't seem to stick that ult in ARAM..... See it done a million times... Try it myself... They get the heal off and I hit like a wet noodle then catch three years of cc before I can e away XD...

Pyke is definitely top 5 for pure power as well as top 5 for sustain in ARAM... Obnoxious to be sure... Just wish I could play him better than a rock [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I've had Pyke twice in Aram in the past 2 weeks, got 3 penta's and a few quadra's, was very easy. I agree, he is too busted for Aram. I could've had more penta's if not for your typical Aram ks. Lol

I have IRL friend reporting Pyke player in ARAM "for playing Pyke" lol. And also sending Riot tickets asking why they forgot to delete this April fool champion. What Riot answers is basically "if you're not happy, f*ck off".

Annoying really is the best word for pyke. His ult resets are the only really OP thing about his kit, other than that he's just slippery.

They don't care about ARAM balance if that is not obvious already. What stops them from putting Pyke to a +10% damage received and -5% damage dealt?

Because that don't fix him from Qing into E, wait for team to get you low enough for his ult then Quadra. :P

ARAM can't be balanced and shouldn't be, it's a completely different setup to SR and being locked in a small confined space shows how some champs excel in that kind of environment, not because of their power but design, which is around SR. You can't balance Anivia wall or fiddle's ult, they just excel in this environment, like they would the jungle.

The balancing as well isn't right. Akali has 18% extra damage and 10% damage reduction and is only just scraping 50% win ratio. Ziggs now has a 50-52% win rate, great. But what do they expect, 15% poke reduction, -15% damage and against champs like Akali, he'll do 12% less damage. That's potental 42% yet he's still above 50%, this isn't because he does too much damage, it's because he excels in the enviroment.

Meanwhile, Rek'Sai has +12% damage and -10% taken and still sits at 43% winrate with 1% playrate, how bad do you think they'd be if they didn't have that buff.

The top 10 are basically ADCs or self healers. I'd say best way to balance the mode. Removed all damage buffs/nerfs and reduced ALL healing in the game by 50% not just healing others.

Yes but think of who it would fix? No more 60% winrate Swain, no Pyke escaping with a sliver of HP to return with full HP 5 seconds later. No more Full MR Maokai healing all his damage with one suck. Then they could give him a defensive buff to even it out. That said, I think Aatrox can be an issue too, confined space with Ult and could of Qs, conqueror and triumph? Back to full HP from 5%.

Funny/ironic thing is, during the whole time of trying out bans in ARAM, pyke didn't get banned once in all the games I played. Always veigar, lux, teemo, heim, ziggs, xerath, brand etc.. So bringing back bans won't fix this issue.

Balance for aram, ult/execute won't work unless enemy champ under 20% health.. Bring it more in line w/ Darius ult.. Not like pyke isn't fairly loaded elsewhere..
