"Trolling" Has Pretty Much Lost Its Meaning In League

In most cases, "internet trolling" is the act of posting distasteful remarks online in an attempt to upset people for their own emotional benefit. But apparently, anything someone does that someone else dislikes, intentional or unintentional, is trolling according to League players.

Going item 3107 and item 3174 with support Morgana ? You're trolling. Accidentally disconnected because something happened to your router? You're trolling. Trying (anything) off-meta and it isn't working out as planned? You're trolling.

I wish some of these kids would take the time to research what trolling actually is, rather than debasing the definition of trolling, and using their made up definition and threatening to report others for such if they don't play exactly how they want them to.

Eh, part of the blame goes to people like streamers who use it willynilly. These examples and the fact people do frivilously report as trolling also contributes to issues detecting true trolling.

sad part is riot don't give two shits about any form of trolling. but if you say just 1 word in chat they go ape shit on you.

Same with "inting". Some people think feeding is inting while not even realize what the "int" is short for.

sadly, it's the same way on the forums, but in a different direction.

someone leaving their adc to 1v2 and refusing to communicate all game long? not trolling. someone getting >1 death per minute? not trolling, just a bad game.

kind annoys the shit out of me tbh.

When it comes to League, any and all words a player could say is worth infinitely less than fetid pig shit.

I'm a Rakan Mid main, and if you checked my Rakan game history, you'd see that I'm not too bad at it. I can't tell you how many Champ selects have been full of flame and unnecessary dodging solely because of my pick. Hell, I've probably been reported dozens of times for it as well during games where it dosnt work out. Honestly might make a full on post about this but I feel like the term "trolling" has been completely changed by the League community.

I'm not sure, if Redemption affects Morgana's spellshield, or if Athene does. Or if Athene affects Redemption. But If Morg's spellshield procs Athene, then that one makes sense. Redemption doesn't really worth it though.

I approve this message.

but why do you care about what randos on the internet have to say about you or your gameplay?

alot of words have lost their meaning and impact which makes it doubly funny whenever people jump up and act like it´s a dead-serious issue every time it´s convenient to them, even when they know full well that the message they are fabricating has next to nothing to do with what was actually meant.

I think we just have to accept "trolling" and "inting" as synonyms to playing badly, at this point, alongside the occasional original use of these words.

the word troll and trolling has lost it's meaning in general, like you said all you gotta do is say something the other person doesn't like and you get called a troll

Literally anything unintentional happens, it's trolling. Also, for the media, pretty much anything that doesn't agree with them is an "internet troll".
