The role of a controle jungler & how I like to see it changed
Right now the controle jungle playstyle is about vision controle. Getting a sightstone & putting that vision down in the enemy jungler. Prevent any gank for the ganking jungler slowing down the game with the snowball in mind. Overal it's a no risk high rewards situation while giving only litte interaction with your opponement. I think the reason for that is that their is little to no diversity between the items of a support & the items of a controle jungler. But it's getting even worse. A fell low mobility champions have little to no controle jungle impact and are basicly forced to ignore it just because their are so little options you can go for.
I would like to see some crazy items that could help promoting this jungle playstyle:
- Item that makes a jungle camp immune for damage for a brief second
- Item that powers up a monster
- Item that stuns a monster
- Item that tames a monster
#ITEM A
- Recipe:
+
- Unique Active: After a brief delay of 2 seconds tames a targetted monster
Context: The idea behind this item is that a farming jungler farms his jungle really fast. This way the monsters he's getting will levelup really quickly. So you could use the item to steal a strong monster from a farming jungler jungle and maybe even use it to win a duel against them. Again it can be used defensively when someone tries to duel you or saving some hp by letting the tammed monster tank a camp. You can't tame dragon, baron and red/blue offcourse.
#ITEM B
- Recipe:
+
- Unique Active: Throws a ball that makes a serrounding monsters immune for damage for a brief second.
Context: This was something I thought could be intressting for tanky controle jungle that have mana gates. Most of them don't have the damage to outsmite a farming or ganking jungler. But when you add immunity to the mix. It's get more intressting. An item like this has the potentional to be really strong in the later stages of the game. But add the cost of some tankness. I can also see it on some AP junglers that fall off in the lategame like nidalee for example. Maybe even more scaling champions like Diana. I think it's a scary item to try but than again. I think it's worth checking.
#ITEM C
- Recipe:
+
- Champions - Unique Active: Deals 100 magic damage and slows the target champion's Movement Speed by 25% for 2 seconds (90 second cooldown).
- Monsters - Unique Active: Makes a monster bigger & stronger dealing 20 magic damage and slows the target champion's Movement Speed by 10% on hit for 2 seconds. After 6 seconds the monster returns to normal. (90 second cooldown).
Context: Probaly need some number changes. The idea behind this is as a jungler you can messup the enemy jungler clears by powering up his monsters & bullying him away from a camp and maybe even stealing it afterwards. If it should work on monsters like baron, dragon & red/blue is still a question but I can see some funny strategies be involved arround it. The build path can also be improved. Basicly my intention was that it would be really effective for & against ganking junglers by delaying their clears or even stealing them. But I can see some potentional for tanky & farming junglers tho.
#ITEM D
- Recipe:
+
- Unique Passive: Abilities will stun monsters for 2 seconds (5 seconds cooldown).
Context: AP junglers have the potentional get low from camps until they have enouge AP to insta clear them. A utility item like this could help them a lot. Mostly when this AP jungler has to focus on farming. But I can see some counter jungle option on it tho. By taking less damage from camps they have a better chance to invade. In the lategame they can basicly can perma stun monsters. For this reason I think maybe a reduced duration for dragon & baron or even compleetly immunity against it. This is maybe not a true counter jungle item. But I found worth mentioning here.
This is just the tip of the iceberg offcourse. A lot of item and maybe some tweaks to execting items like
can make the controle jungle playstyle more intressting & overal making it focus less on vision & more on supporting & shutting down the jungler on different ways that involves more about the jungle itself. Maybe even a items that grants bonusses in bushes or something maybe something similar to the nidalee passive.
