At What Elo Do People Understand When To Baron?

This is getting out of hand now. By no means am I pro, but I think trying to contest baron 4v5 while the enemies are tons more fed than us is just SLIGHTLY a bad idea. Considering that we had open inhibs and 5th teammate up in 30.

So I stayed and tried to push out waves. Then the Sivir pings me and says VLAD?? I try to explain to her baron is a bad call run. They still attempt a contest and, they lose! Who would of guessed. Now our last teammate gets up and we try to 2v5. We hold until our team comes up and they suicide into a 3v2. End game they blame me and zed (The other teammate) For zed getting caught and me not helping contest baron.

Am I not seeing something or was 4v5ing at baron the right decision?

Considering I see LCS teams throw at Baron, I wouldn't get your hopes up

If you have no obvious advantage on the map, running baron yourself is a bad call. Contest it maybe, try and go for a smite steal perhaps. But no inhibs + 3 lanes being pushed toward you + only 4v5 means maybe ward up or try to keep the enemy off baron at the most.

It happens at all ELOs, or at least up to high Plat from what I've seen. It's not uncommon for one or two players to tunnel on something else and not think that baron is up, so often times you just need to "on my way" ping 2-3 times (not a ton) and say "baron pls" in chat. You really have to know if it is the right call for it to actually work out, but making the wrong call is still ok --- you'll learn from it and find out what made it a bad call so that you don't call it out next time that happens.
