I actually liked the April Fool's joke.

Mostly because it was enjoyable up until one of our teammates BMed the "bots" and didn't hit the nexus for the last bit of damage AND we ended up losing, but w/e

BUT! It was enjoyable because we didn't worry about humans fighting us. We thought it was bots, so we focused on teamwork and improvement. In fact, it was the -best- PvP match I've had in recent memory.

I think enforced disabled cross-chat is a really fantastic idea that should be implemented straightaway, and we should always have the "champion bot" name style (well, maybe not, but it helped with the illusion). I think a game that focuses on teamwork is always at the core of League, and if we just had a game where "let's band together and fight, and then leave" is the idea we should move forward with into the future. No cross-chat in game, no after-game lobby chat with all the players. Let's just get people together to play a game as opponents and then move on afterwards. I think that would be ideal.

I hope riot used this opportunity to collect data on toxicity levels and the amount of reports etc.

I would strongly dislike enforced disabled cross-chat. There's an option to toggle all-chat already. I enjoy talking to the enemy team because if my own team is insulting me, I have the ability to make new friends. Be it by bonding over weeb stuff, or our love for Lux, or whatever. I don't know where I'm going with this. It's 2AM. ;-;

I agree. I have never used /all chat, and not even sure why it's there. WHY would you want to talk to the enemy team? Chat with them after if you liked their skin or something. During game time, you shouldn't be wasting time on chatting too much anyway (hint to all the people that get banned and post their mile-long chat logs).

Seems toxicity is one of the biggest problems with this game, so why not get rid of /all chat permanently? It serves no practical game purpose.

It's for any type of discussion. It's an optional choice to use /all chat when you just start playing the game, you have to manually enable it yourself. Discuss about politics or something, etc. It's like a chatroom but in-game. It's basically a text version of microphones on Black Ops or something. If you think the chat has no point, then you also have to prove why COD mics are pointless, why Kongregate chatroom is pointless, and more. It's not meant to serve any practical game purpose, It's a privilege.

Toxicity is almost never in /all chat, most toxicity cases are in the team chat. So you don't have any kind of argument other than generalizing toxicity into /all chat.

So why get rid of it? It's not like people hate it. Maybe YOU do, but I don't. And you have as much value as me.

note: You also ignore /all GG that everyone says at the end of the game Its also funny that you mention mile long chat logs that just happen to be based on communication with teammates and not in /all chat

I genuinely cant believe how many people actually thought they were playing against bots. That is a joke in an of itself lol
