Buff Avarice Blade

Avarice Blade needs a major buff, it is simply not a good buy right now. Even if you farm cs perfectly for 20 min you will not get your 800 gold back from it.

70 cs at 10 min with 2 per death 140

3 per 10 sec = 18 per 60 sec So 180 for 10 min

So at the begining of a fight if someone spends 5 min getting a Avrice blade and then 10 min using it they spend 800 and get back 320.....

Even if Avarice Blade's numbers were doubled it would not be a good buy, because by 15 min when laning phase is about to end, You have still lost 160 gold on this investment. 4gp per death and 6 per 10sec = 640 gp at 10 min

12.6 cs per minute(goes up to 14 cs per minute as the game goes on) = 252 cs in 20 minutes = 504 gold. 3 gp10 = 360 gold in 20 minutes

504+360= 864.

Sorry but you're wrong, if you farm perfectly for 20 min you will get more than your original 800 gold back.

The only issue I can see isn't that the gold generation is too low, but that in order to get significant gold you need to farm for a long time but none of the items it builds into are slot efficient late game.

it would be nice if it continued into items that would generate gold. static shiv for example is a waveclear item and could use a gold generation mechanic.

I'm confused. Most items in the game don't give gold back at all...

Even if you don't make back the full gold cost of Avarice Blade, the gold you get after buying it is always higher than if you farmed the same without it. Extra gold is extra gold and helped you buy big items like BF Sword.

Buy Avarice early. Get core items a little faster. Turn Avarice into something useful.

I'm getting different numbers than you. Most people in NA cant get 170 cs in 20 min let alone 250 cs.

Add on to this that the 800 spent for the Avarice blade means we couldnt have got something else like 2 long swords, or a pick axe after a few more cs, at the 5 min mark. So less ad vs the opponent and less ad for farming.

I always thought its dumb that Avarice loses its gold generating passives when turned into shiv or ghostblade.

That is part of the rip off too, Shiv and Yg dont keep the gold passives.

Shiv and Yg still seem like good items. If you consider that you save some money along the way from the Avarice Blade's gold generation, then they're pretty efficient, too. Avarice Blade doesn't need to pay for itself. It just needs to make the finished item it was a part of somewhat cheaper so that the final item was still worth the price. If you've watched much of the lcs you'd probably know they've bought plenty of Avarice blades. There was even one game in the NA lcs where there was a Sivir that held and Avarice blade most of the game. So I really don't think it needs a buff.

I'm a Gangplank player and I often buy it in the early stages of the game (mostly when I expect a farm fest lane). I don't care if it doesn't repay itself (I fail to see a reason why it should). It's just a piece of my build that gives me additional gold while gettin' those hyper-expensive items I need ( item 3078 item 3031 ). It probably puts me a little behind in terms of stat per gold efficiency, but it speeds up the rest. GP is not very strong in midgame-laning phases, so there's no reason to rush items to exploit a power spike he doesn't have. It gives me 500~ g on average per game (last game it netted me 798 g)
