People want champion diversity but nobody wants role diversity

The guy on the front page goes singed smite and ques as support, but doesn't play support. Everybody wants champion diversity but for some reason nobody is able to accept role diversity.
This guy sacrifices the support role for a counter jungling role and still wins the majority of his games. Tell me, why is that a problem? Is ADC + support bot supposed to be an ironclad rule, set in stone and never changed? Yes, he leaves his ADC in a 1v2 lane, but he still wins more than he loses, so clearly it works for him.
One argument I saw being tossed around is "he's queing as support but isn't support, he should que as jungle". That's the problem, he's not playing a jungler, his team already has one. He's playing as a counter-jungler role. Whether you think having a counter-jungler role is a good idea or not is irrelevant, the problem is the client is set up to only support the 5 ironclad roles that make up the current meta, and it's not possible to que as anything divergent.
As long as we keep supporting this mentality of forcing a certain set of roles and punishing anyone who tries to break the mold, we're never going to see any significantly divergent metas form, and personally I don't see that as being beneficial to long term game health. League doesn't need to be like DOTA and shouldn't try to be, however even though I really hate to bring it up I have to point out that game is miles ahead of League in this respect.
All I ask is that people try to have an open mind and not instantly dismiss anyone who tries to break the static set of roles we currently have. Not conforming to meta roles shouldn't be a punishable offense.
