Can we stop pretending like Miss Fortune got a rework

Laraso··156 votes·10,745 views

Honestly other than her W giving strut when activated, she doesn't feel even slightly different than she used to. Can we just say she got a visual update and put her back on the list for pending reworks?

She's still being worked on, rework wise. They said they aren't going to rush it out, because they want to make sure it finally makes her work.

So they lied when they called "that thing" a rework then?

WhiskerWow8 votes

It wasn't even (originally, it was changed) listed as a gameplay rework. It was more of a bandage (but that can also be debated).

Auz the Ripper9 votes

It was a "gameplay update"

Shaded Striker16 votes

She still has changes coming.

Laraso2 votes

Can you give me a link to where you heard that? I haven't seen any red posts saying anything about Miss Fortune.

Miss Fortune got some very small gameplay changes and not much more on the gameplay side. We're totally with you on that. She is, however, still being looked at. I will say she's probably not too far off from being really cool. Mostly, she probably needs her ult to be a lot cooler, or just a few more high moments/optimizations generally.

Please fix her damage outputs, she has way to many confusing scalings, the one thing scales with ap, the other with AD, the other scales with AD but does magic damage blabla, just remove this mess and give her normal ADC scalings please and ult buff

RiotRiotRepertoir9 votes

I don't know that "normal ADC scalings" are perfect for her insofar as she needs to build IE/PD or whatever, but I agree her scaling is really weird or at least confused.

Auryiel4 votes

She used to have a unique build path with way more AD and ArPen than any other ad carry, but that was a long time ago :\

Ariel the Cruel1 votes

Wait.... you mean she didn't always build AP?

Auryiel3 votes

Ok, I lied

item 2139 item 3089 item 2139 item 3100 MissFortune item 3115 item 3135 item 3020 item 3157

SaltyToplaneGoat2 votes

Please don't make her crit dependant. That would make her just like any other adc - totally broing. Let crit be an option, but let building raw ad also be rewarding... The only reason I play her is because she can pull this build off item 3072 item 3006 item 3071 item 3025 + situational 2 items (more raw ad recommended). It's a unique thing she has and I would hate seening this taking away from her...

I agree but please don't donate points from her early game, (basically destroying her early game), to late game, anything but that.

Corki Kogmaw Varus Tristana Ashe Lucian Caitlyn Jinx Graves. EVERYONE into the older ADCs (not Kalista) have secondary AP ratios, MANY have magic damage on the things whose damage should not be countered that much.

I enjoy her as an ADC. She's fun and simple and if I don't feel like stressing a ton I can rely on her to roll early game and do some rather nice mixed damage.

If you're looking for things to hand her in the short run before you finish whatever you're doing with her, you could hand her Q some bonus damage on a chance to crit - it's already kind of like a bonus shot, but past laning phase you're usually not going to find a good time to capitalize on the bonus damage from killing a unit, so I've found it feeling a little bit underwhelming once you've run out of minions to bounce it out of. This would make it more noticeable later in the game.

Other than that, her Make It Rain is pretty reliable as a zone-controller and a catching device, her R is good for wave clearing for tower protection and for applying some nice BC stacks, and the strut reactivation on her W has made splitpushing feel better since even if you've taken some stray damage, you can back off and speed yourself back up rather than feeling vulnerable. There's also period where I've been able to use it to escape champs in general just from the bonus speed getting me out of range before their cooldowns end. Despite what a lot of people say, she still feels nice to use right now. Mostly the only thing I can say I don't like is she doesn't feel like a bounty hunter at all.

She feels like this:

Over-sexualized gal with a gun. Really no other identity.

Not sure if the Baroness is a good example. I think she had more personality than that.

For Carthage2 votes

Eh, regardless, if you didn't know who the Baroness was, that'd be all you'd get from it.

If you know who Miss Fortune's character is, there's more to her. But in game, you couldn't tell that for shit.

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

My point is that if you don't know either of them, you'll judge them only by appearance.

For Carthage1 votes

Hey, same.

We should be besties! We thinks alike.

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

For the record, I'm fine with a costume change. Her latest skin being a good example, with some possible bounty hunter alterations. I just don't want her to lose her playful side.

For Carthage1 votes

Her playful side is what she uses to deal with her past where her parents were shot in front of her and then she was subsequently shot and left for dead.

steelgreensky1 votes

you mean like how her default skin you an see cleavage easy in locked cam angles, but no face thanks to the hat for 7/8ths of the possible major directional facings? and the overplayed gun to shoulder hip shift pose every auto that feels like it gets in the way of smooth attackspeed based autos for no real reason, yet somewhow still works with q reset and orbwalking?

TotalJerk2 votes

Maybe make the bullets fire out in less of a straight up cone. You fire it too close and the enemy can just walk a Teemo to the side, too far and they can just walk away.

When are you guys ever going to respond to any of the Cass threads? There are several issues with this champion (gameplay, lore, personality, skins, etc.) which require your attention.

Because Repertoir isn't the guy that deals with Cass

Canastus1 votes

Who exactly is in charge then? Stashu already abandoned her completely and we're stuck with no one to talk to.

Silents4291 votes

She isn't being looked at right now last time I heard. So no one.

Canastus1 votes

That's the worst possible answer you could give me. And it's entirely unacceptable.

Silents4291 votes

I mean yes, a failed rework with no real followup sucks, but she is in a state that works and isn't an urget manner.

They will no doubt take a crack at her when they end up looking at mages like they did with Juggernauts, and plan to do with marksmen next.

The largest issue with Miss Fortune right now is that it takes far too long for her damage to ramp up. Her W increases the magic damage it deals every hit, up to somewhere like 8 times at level 16. THEN her ult does extra damage per wave, per stack. Is it cool? Sure it is, will she ever get to use it's maximum potential? most likely not.

Most marksmen have their powered loaded up front, or in one single strike. Jinx gets a damage bonus immediately when she switches to rockets. Lucian gets a bolt of light that does quite a bit. A good comparison of power to Miss Fortune is likely Varus. His W does X magic damge on hit. It scales with AP (for some dumb reason), can detonate for percent max health magic damage (which is strictly a worse off Vayne W, which is always active, and does true damage instead) . Miss Fortune is squishy, for her to get off 8 auto attacks in a fight is very hard, and only then does her damage start to become good.

You have her ult do physical damage, that scales with AP, her W does magic damage, that scales with AD. Basically, Miss Fortune is a champion that demands an item that was never made. Hybrid stats, hybrid penetration.

Flemman1 votes

just allow her to walk at 10 % ms during ult (and rotate max 30 °)

ZylotheWolfbane1 votes

What if she could slowly turn her ult? Similar to how Vel'Koz ult works? This would give her a bit more control on her ult, and make getting caught in it more dangerous, simply by being somewhat harder to escape. While retaining its main weaknesses, its arc being much smaller closer to her, the fact she is easily interrupted out of it, and the fact she can't move or reposition during it. Teams would have to decide, are they going to make a full attempt at escaping it? Or make a full attempt at stopping it? It would be harder to just walk out of it THEN CC her in this case.

Alternately, dunno how you would do it, but being able to make her cone thinner or wider would be interesting. Wider cone would hit more area, but do less damage, and be harder to escape. While a smaller cone would be more focused damage, but much easier to escape and avoid, making each choice viable depending on the teamfight, or enemy comp.

It was a nerf with a band-aide. They took away her GW, because of "invisable power" even though people who played her picked her against comps with tons of healing. Not to mention they didn't even take the community's consideration into anything they did. Mf players have been asking forever to make it so her passive can't be canceled by minions.

Instead they got rid of a unique part of her kit and replaced it with a refresh her mobi boots passive? And they didn't even help her ultimate. She basically doesn't even have an ultimate.

junglerboy168 votes

level 6 her ultimate hurts like getting kicked in the nuts by an angry goat.

Other than that it pretty much sucks.

iamthegoatofwar5 votes

should I kick him just to prove it?

MF is not bad at all. I don't get why the boards insist she's terrible. Granted she didn't get a "rework" like GP or Fiora did, but she got some nice buffs and a visual update. That's good.

She's really not that bad guys.

SpecterVonBaren4 votes

Her issue isn't that she's weak, she's actually my favorite ADC, it's just that there's nothing she does that another ADC either can't do better or is at least on par with her and has another strength unique to them. Add to this her immobility and she's a risk to take into a game too, she's not like Ashe who has hard cc, or Jinx who has insane late game damage.

There's just no reason to pick her over someone else aside from if you like the champ. Other ADC's can be lane bullies, have good damage, or have mixed damage. She needs a niche that she can fulfill.

Cloud Potato1 votes

She's got pretty amazing wombo combo potential. Also, most mixed damage ADCs deal magic damage on most of their abilities and rely on basic attacks for physical damage. Miss Fortune isn't like that. That said, her play pattern isn't real special. She mostly just basic attacks with the occasional R.

maikokk1 votes

id have to disagee with her play pattern not being special to an adc... mf has a very unique positioning mini-game skirting around and half-flanking to land the second q bounce on a champ after killing a minion... getting in close enough to make it rain without losing her strut ... it all feels very different than any other adc i have played. that being said... she doesnt DO anything unique functionally.

Cloud Potato1 votes

While that's true for the laning phase, that play disappears afterwards, and Double Up essentially becomes a basic attack reset for all intents and purposes.

junglerboy161 votes

Grave's has similar wombo-combo power, the only difference being his AoE comes out as a burst and hurts a LOT more, which makes it much superior.

Cloud Potato1 votes

Graves: 550 (+ 150% bonus AD) physical to initial target, 80% of that to targets in AoE range

Miss Fortune: 125 (+ 20% AP) physical per shot, 1000 (+ 160% AP) total

Takes 300 bonus AD to equal damage on the first target, and that's not counting Impure Shot's effect on Bullet Time, which is an uglier thing to work out because of its stacking mechanism (on targets with no stacks, it deals 216% AD magic damage if all 8 hits occur). While Graves does have burst going for him, he obviously doesn't have better damage.

Jeddy0173 votes

What rework? She didn't get one,it was just a very minor (& arguably pointless) gameplay update.

As FacerollKatarina provided a link,MF is getting a more serious update.Won't be out till sometime after 5.18 (the Worlds patch) though,so don't expect it for a while.

MrSexyHobo1 votes

MF is in a good spot and has one of the stronger laning phases of all the adc's. She also hovers around 50% win rate. Why do you want her to feel different when she is unique? If you want a champ that feels different then pick one of the other 200 champs in the game.

Rikari1 votes

strong laning phase? unique?wtf do you play her?

She is probably the #1 lane bully in bot lane... And that's why she has a decent solo queue win rate. I wouldn't say she is unique since she feels so similar to graves. Both are bursty AOE ADCs with mobility tied to their attack speed steroid that bully lane. She is also kind of similar to Lucian in that regard.
