Ranked should NOT take into account individual performance.

I watched a video on someone's grievances from Overwatch's ranked mode. Not only do they have similar issues when it comes to stompy games, but you can get more or less points just by "doing more damage", "landing more kills", or whatever.

This, however, means that if you're, say, a carry hero being supported by tanks and supports and junk, it's WAY easier for you to look like you're a beast and get a boost in your overall gains per match than it is for someone that plays more supportive heroes in Overwatch. Do you guys hate when people make shitty comps like this Yasuo Khazix Velkoz Vayne Blitzcrank , where there's no real supportive/defensive options to keep your carries alive since everyone's some sort of play-maker? Well that'll happen five times more if you make a gap between the amount of lp you earn for "popping off" and the amount of lp you earn for "making sure that someone on your team will pop off".

No, it would work like the S, A, B, C rank which are all dependet on what your champ ur playing. For adcs it takes into accoutn damage delt and supports it takes into account how much heals u provided and how many wards u provided.

There are occasional games where I get perfect, no death games as a support and get an A+. That type of thing just muddies the water.

No death does not equal perfect game. If your assists/cc were sub-par, then you won't be getting an S.

Some supports don't cc that much. Some games are super short and don't offer a window for a bunch of teammates to get an S at the same time. Still, some champs are designed around aiming for short games. It's a bad idea in the long run. The idea should be squashed.

Although the ranks sometimes get funky, it would be nice to see something along the lines of getting an S means you don't lose LP for a loss.

Assuming the ranking actually takes into account KDA, vision and objective damage like it should, it would be cool to not get punished for the performance of others.

Then I will just spam Soraka jungle and farm S+ that after 2 days I'm challanger. The mastery system has nothing to do with how well you played for your team. It just compares you to other players of similar skill on the same champion in the same position, so playing champions outside their main position it's easy to farm S+'s

No I'm pretty sure that everyone needs to supply wards.

Don't even act for a single second that's a support-only consideration.

While it shouldn't simply take into account individual performance, it shouldn't solely place you based on your team's performance either. There should be proper balance between both for proper and fair balance reasons. You're prone to getting heavier and worst players the more you win, but it's never the other way around. I don't know if it's meant to keep you at a 50% wr for balance reasons, but there really needs to be more incentive for straight up balanced matchmaking in this game.

Overwatch is already trying to do this. Issue is that there's a point gain discrepancy based on the style of play you choose because you may end up doing things differently. The point should be to win, not to flex.

Then it's probably either not working right, or working as intended.

Honestly, it should have that difference. If I'm going to play support, offer more heals than anyone on either team, land the best CC and help turn the tide of teamfights, yet some splitpushing ADC makes us lose the game, I don't want to be knocked down. Likewise, if my team wants to go grab baron when they're closing in on our inhibitor, I dont want to get penalized for it. Individual play should have a key role in how much LP you gain or lose.

As long as matchmaking intentionally puts you with worse or better players in order to force a 50% winrate at your estimated MMR, it would make sense that your personal performance should have SOME impact on LP.
