An actual post on the state of Ahri's kit and not just whining/complaining

and sarcastic ass posts for free upvotes, I'm getting REAL tired of looking at all you little cretins.

Anyway as someone who's played a boatload of Ahri, I can probably pick out the actual discrepancies from the whiny complaints. So, on to her kit:

Passive: this one is a tricky one. While I don't know if an assassin should have sustain like this (even with the nerf), i'm not sure what else to trade it for. back to this in a moment.

Q: this is probably the one thing most people have a problem with. The MS boost either needs to be toned down or removed, as it made her very reliable in lane, whether it was escaping or engaging. I'd like to see it toned down, mostly because it's great for repositioning. If it was removed, that wouldn't be the end of the world for her.

W: fine. nerfed range, so she needs to get in close to use it.

E: people cry about this one, and I gotta say it's super unfounded. It's her only CC, it's not a short CD, and it's not inexpensive (especially in lane phase). "oh but she uses it to escape" yeah, so does every other damn mage with CC? Don't make false equivalences here. Now, on the other hand, if you're talking about the E + Q escape combo, yes, I get it. But that's the MS boost, not charm.

R: A signature ability on Ahri. The only thing I'd touch on this is maybe up the CD a little bit, since it's acquisition range was nerfed (like W). Maybe 115/100/85. If the MS on Q is removed, this is as high as it should go. R is her engage, chase, kiting, and escape. I wouldn't mess too much with it.

Now, the passive on Ahri is both problematic and not, because of how it works. The sustain she got was nerfed, which was definitely an actually balanced decision. She also needs to use mana to set it up (and that's 150 mana at minimum with 3 W's). On the other hand, it can make her hard to kill, although I'm sure if the Q ms boost was removed, it wouldn't be that much of a problem.

But if we were to trade in another passive, what would it be? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that.

Passive: Transcendent: Each of Ahri's abilities gains an additional effect at max rank. Q: Ahri now gains a massive movement speed boost while her orb is traveling that rapidly decays over time. W: Acquisition range increased from 550 to 650. In addition, ult acquisition range increased from 600 to 700. E: Charmed targets now take +20% damage.

Because this worked so well with the other character they did this with

Her Q also makes her good at roaming, which I guess she should have since Zed, LeBlanc and Fizz all have non-ult mobility.

Passive: Kitsune Miracle - If Ahri drops below 20% of her maximum health she transforms into a fox, gaining a shield that scales with level and AP and cutting her hitbox to a third of its normal size. While Ahri is in fox form she is silenced and cannot auto attack or use summoner spells, but she gains 100% move speed.

Hey, I play a boatload of Ahri too.

About the increased cd on the ult, I don't think that would be a healthy decision because so much of her kit (and the fun in playing her) relies on it. Honestly I would much rather have other abilities getting nerfed than having R's cooldown increased. At 6+ without ult, you are nothing more than a Lux/Xerath with a speed boost every 7s. If something gets to you, you're most likely dead. Also let's not forget the average assassin has a dash/blink on a 10-20s cooldown. Ahri's is 110/90/80.

About the passive, it could give mana instead. But if it gave a lot of mana then Ahri would become a huge lane bully spamming EWQ every few seconds. Trying to find a passive that fits her lore, it could either be increased damage vs champions hit by one of your spells before (so like Lux's passive but your spells could proc it), free AP (like Veigar's Q) or free maximum mana (so she would only benefit from it after recalling).

I only added 5 seconds on because it seemed iffy. btw her R CD is 110/95/80. 15 second reduction for every rank.

Also this is exactly what I mean by the passive. It's hard to give her something useful without making her too reliable or straight up giving her more damage.

To be honest, I think they hit the nail on the head when they gave her that passive. There's literally nothing that can take it's place without just seeming like complete garbage. I think it would be best if they revert the E to it's previous state and remove the MS boost. It removes her reliability but also counteracts the increased kill pressure she'll be under because they risk taking taking that charm to the face and getting chunked if they try to commit.

Either remove the Q MS or remove the current passive and put the MS in the passive in the form of "every 3rd spell, you gain an MS boost." She can't have everything.

seems like you dont understand ahri at all since you call her an assassin she is not she is a kite mage and thats why she has the ms boost on q also she is too reliable on her ult to make the cd longer well your changes seem horrible tbh

I say assassin because she IS part assassin.... mages also generally don't have heals like that either? they usually only have heals if they're supports too.

also her MS boost is a little iffy, I admit that no matter how much I'd like her to keep it.

Cassiopeia Ekko Galio Lissandra have heals she is no assassin xD ahri doesnt have the 100-0 potential like other mages but she got mobility instead (and if she does she is simply fed)

1000angrybees1 votes

Ekko isn't a mage.... and Lissandra needs to ult for her heal. But I do understand what you mean.

Feel like if you remove her passive or it's sustain at least and the movespeed on her q she becomes pretty trash. She becomes mobile for a very brief amount of time and her poke becomes incredibly unsafe.

Other assassins have poor lane phases because they can typically just trash you once they hit 6. Diana will destroy you at 6, Fizz will, Kat if she's been poking you enough, Akali if you're squishy, Ahri doesn't rlly have that. We would be nerfing Ahri's lane phase pretty hard and leaving her an immobile mage with brief windows of mobility.
