counterpoint: don't give up on a lost lane

Even if they are 0-6, if you gank them enough, they will end the game 20-10. It's quite possible and happened to me many times. The best example of that is my Fiora game where I started 0-8, and then ended 20-13. I honestly didn't get my first kill until my team has had about 25 kills, and I ended up having the highest kill participation. Don't give up on a lost lane.

Ehh, context.

I will refuse to help a 0-10 solo laner who sits in lane and insists on farming next to/fighting the clearly superior enemy laner, dying, and then flaming.

On the other hand however, I will gladly coordinate with a laner that fell behind and is roaming to other lanes to gank and support them. I love snowballing a game with a 4 man rush bot lane, oftentimes leading to their bot lane dead and the tower gone.

I mean, especially if that person has CC, I will gladly accept any help that leads to getting my already successful laners snowballing even harder.

I agree, some players when they see they are losing at early game, they tend to get angry, or leave the game. Basically, don't give up, try hard and you might end up in success.

Er, but kill gold will reset.

I hate to say this, but once a laner falls behind a certain point it's best not to give them kills. They need to focus on farm and objectives at that point. For someone like Fiora, it's best to either split-push, or to assassinate carries instead of trying to get kills during the laning phase.

really? the best thing to do with fiora is to get a lot of kills and carry hard imo

If you can't get kills yourself (or with help, even) during the laning phase, it's best not to be worth gold for awhile. Get kills off the enemy carries, not the enemy top laner.

My last sentence was about split-pushing and assassinating carries. Fiora, due to her E, can take towers pretty fast. If you take teleport (much better than ignite, especially when behind), you can gank bot lane for double kills.

If a Fiora can't get kills on her own, do you really think she can carry? We junglers would try to gank their lane as early as possible (assassin lanes are good to gank first early game, just before mid/bot for drag control), but sometimes a lost cause is a loss cause. If a laner, especially someone playing Fiora, cannot play behind or with the team, they might be better off playing champions with more utility over damage.

Yes. Fiora is pretty bad early vs let's say a Darius, but once she gets all her items she can definitely carry

Hm, guess I should have framed my argument a little better.

I speak more in terms of mid-game. In early game, I view top lane as the best lane to gank early, especially for a snowball assassin. It's too early to control dragon if I don't have a particular champion, and I'll be paying attention to mid and bot for most of the mid game.

However, after that, I do expect the top laner to be able to handle themselves because I need to prioritize bot and mid in order to control dragon. If the top laner takes teleport, I expect them to help me out after I help them snowball. If they take ignite, I expect them to take control of their lane afterwards.

But I do stress that top lane, even Fiora, needs to be independent after a point. If they have teleport, that gives me better control over dragon pit if I help them, but otherwise I do need to pay slightly more attention to bot and mid.

Fiora can carry, yes, but so can a full item adc or mid laner. And the other two give me slightly more objective control. My best tip to you is to take teleport for dragon and teamfights, and to ask for a gank early and give your jungler a heads up so they can gank your lane first before setting up dragon.

After the first couple dragons or so, the jungler can probably gank your lane a bit more.

I always try to take the time to increase my abilities, and learning agilities. Any of the comments supporting a never give up, or don't quit sort of stance are concluding sound intelligent advice to me. From: FuryofThornsRedo
