I know that Riot will get extreme amounts of hate for their DQ decision...

But as a solo player, I honestly think that what they said in the post and the video is a massive step forward. They literally said that the current state of DQ is garbage, that they made mistakes and that they really want to improve the system. It was transparent: they explained why they did things in certain ways, and also what their plans for the future are.

Not only that, I also like their suggested changes which retain the core element of DQ (playing with friends), while improving some of the bad points, like unbalanced matches and high elo trouble.

And of course, this is still far from perfect. They admitted that, and they realise that DQ will need a lot more work before it is exactly as intended. But if they keep doing it like this, telling us what they do and the reasons why they do or don't do stuff, I'm okay with it.

I know that posting pro-DQ statements on the Boards is a good way to get guaranteed downvotes. But I don't care: I am happy with how Riot has done this and I believe that if I'm patient, they will be able to tweak the system enough to make everyone happy.
