Since the juggernauts are running loose and the adc's are causing havoc across the rift, maybe our necromancer friend can bring back our old friend deathfires grasp.
DFG was honestly pretty bad against tanky DPS.
In practice, all that item ever did was move your 100%->20% QWER burst into a 100%->0% 1QWER burst.
The %HP scaling was more analogous to an extra ability that scaled off of levels over actually being good vs. high HP.
Doubly so considering high HP targets also have high MR whch really hits %HP magic damage hard.
Triply so as the entire reason a tanky champion is good vs. a bursty champion is that there's a massive difference between OHKOing a target in 0.5 seconds over dropping a target from 100% to 50% with your once a minute rotation, and all DFG did was turn that 100% to 50% into a 100% to 40%.
Quadruply so as FoN offered some pretty impressive HP/5 that's going to bump that 40% up to 50% by the time your QWE come off CD and you can drop them from 50% to ~15%. Annd you're face is getting smashed in the entire time. If released now, BV and SV both only lack 6 MR from FoN's value and they also provide an impressive boost to HP/5.
DFG mostly just turned everyone who bought it into
.
Useless vs. tanks unless extremely fed, OHKOs squishies with no warning while offering juuuust enough omphf to render mild counter-builds available to supports or squishy carries completely and utterly useless.
It's also worth considering the main way you beat a tanky champion as a bursty one is by whittling them down with poke and chip damage until their current HP is effectively the same as a squsihy champion's you can OHKO. In which case there's always:
that can really add some potency to poke.
Because of how counter-intuative that is for DFG's tooltip and playing against someone with DFG, the item was just a mess all-around and needed to go.
