What's Viktors Weakness? (Advice)

Facing one now. Can never fight this shit stain. He outranges me, misses his Death Ray, I use the window to go in and just get insta killed by the QR.

For one, he is gated by the fact that his first buy costs 1350 gold.

Second, he is immobile.

Third, idk how you are getting killed by just Q + R unless you are sub 50% when you go in.

Punish him pre-6.

Anivia is immobile. Viktor gets movespeed, not much and not early.. but I wouldn't consider him immobile compared to most mages (note not assassins).

A crucial part of not dying is not feeding him. A fed Viktor is no fun. Just like any other burst mage.

Didn't you just cry about hexdrinker being OP a couple of weeks ago?

Yeah no, that's the point.. I mostly play Brand, so I can easily poke him out, but if I go in for the kill, the delay between QWE and the passive explosion and the ultimates slowly bouncing between minions and him gives him enough time to burst me out.

And as for hex being OP..

I don't play AD mids, I just don't like their style. I'd certainly trade Seekers for Hexdrinker though.

If you're looking for an AP Safety net, try item 3102 . Should save you from good chunk of burst.

Yeah, unless you're like 30+ minuttes into the game, Viktor isnt able to oneshot you in that timezone. Compared to brand, viktor has to build his burst through items and levels. Brand has it throughout the whole game, so you should easily be able to beat him pre-2 items.

There's no excuse other than just getting good

Viktor is plagued with many weaknesses as a laner. First off he can be outranged and beated by other burst mages and sustain laners such as Syndra and Vladimir . Second off after 7.12 has some of the worst lane sustain out of any mid laner cause he heavily relies on his death ray to clear minion waves but since d-ring stacking is removed and Viktor has some really huge mana costs he can't keep spamming it. I honestly think he's in a super weak spot atm. If your getting killed instantly by Q - R then its probably best to poke him then try to go for a full on duel with him just cause death ray is down cause he has really disgusting burst. Viktor basically wants you to get close to him cause that's when he excels so its best to keep a distance and not go for extended trades.

Ah, thank you. Thankfully that guy was a shitter so it didn't matter too much..

But in future I should just focus on poking him out rather than killing him?

You want to put him in a position where you basically have to force him to use abillites on the minion wave. So it's best to shove him in cause he will want kill the minion wave before the next wave comes because he'll be losing gold which will stop him from getting his upgraded core but this also puts him in a really bad spot because if he's trying to get the wave pushed back in then he has to use abillties to do so which then makes him lose a lot of mana since his cost are very high. Also if you play a champ with a strong pre-3 like Cassiopeia then you can space him out from the minions. Your looking for trades when death ray is down cause the only thing he'll be able to do when he doesn't have his ult is AA's and his Q. Also note that if you decide to push him in ward for the enemy jungler, and also conserve your mana. Viktor is super weak against brand because he can't out range brand and its super hard for him to do anything. Best thing to do is if you want to all in is poke him before hand using W and E and then use W E and then ult which will proc your passive cause all you have to do is land 3 abillites on to Viktor, the reason why this is easier cause all you have to is land the W and the E and R are just point in click making it easier to proc the passive. You don't get the stun but you do get the burst out of this and also like a previous poster said you can buy item 3102 as a safety net and to make his burst not hurt as bad.
