15 Minute Surrenders

I get it Riot. 15 minute surrenders on paper sounds like a great idea. If a team is like, 20 kills down within 15 minutes (which happens way too much in lower elo) and pairing that with the fact that 90% of players have the hero mentality and don't know how to play from behind, you'll most likely always get those people who press no on every surrender call, essentially holding their team hostage in a game where the enemy team is like 10K gold up and pushing your inhib towers.

I really, really like the idea, but does it have to be a unanimous agreement? Can't it be treated like a normal surrender where 4 people have to say yes? I get that it's in testing, I just hope that in the future if this becomes an actual thing that it'll be treated like a normal surrender.

I also understand it's a bad thing wanting to give up, but it is really tiring being held in a game where it's been less than 20 minutes and a solid % of your towers have been destroyed and such. Especially in this meta where snowballing is crazy.

I think you'll be surprised to see how often it happens in high elo

I wouldn't know tbh. I've never been higher than silver. I'm just saying, from experience it happens a fair amount in the games I play. That's all.

I don't really consider myself as like high elo, but I've watched alot of streams where games basically were decided by 10 minuttes

Try playing in NA, people here NEVER want to fucking surrender even if they're the ones feeding and you're their only hope

I would prefer that over surrendering a game just because we are little behind

Oh no, if you're say 5 kills behind and you've lost a tower or two, I wouldn't surrender either. It's when you're 15+ kills behind and/or a decent % of towers destroyed. Especially since a fair amount of players including me don't know how to turtle a game out and try to scale. There's still a lot of aggression and such even if one team is fairly behind. But don't get me wrong, if my team started to scale and winning teamfights, I'd be more than happy to drag it out for a real victory.

I mean, my team surrendered a winnable game few times recently. I was the only one voting no, but because they flamed each other, low morale, team behind (but not too much) they prefered to surr and there was nothing I could do. If we could surr at 15min I would expect a surr at first blood every game. I would rather have no surr option and play a lost game to and end than my team surr a won one.

NA has a higher percentage of surrender votes compares to every region beside korea and japan. Also as your rank increases, the number of successful surrender votes also increase. It boils down to basically better players with more game knowledge know when to call it quits

People want to FF at 5 mins when the team is three kills behind. Yes, unanimous is important. At least half the games people want to ff20 as it is end up being victories when the late-gamers come in.

I'd never be that desperate for a surrender. A few kills really doesn't mean anything. It's all about playing smart, farming and waiting for picks.
