There is nothing to look forward to except Challenger so why bother playing Ranked?

Image: Just yesterday I was almost D1 then was trolled to D4 in the span of a day and half and managed to salvage at least D3 back.
It's almost comical at this point. I have been D2 - D1 for four years into 2018 now and can assuringly tell you nothing is different up until Challenger. There are many, many horrible players in Masters that will make it their mission to ruin your games and everyone is toxic.
Into this year I'm just so crushed about this game. There's nothing to look forward to except an elo I will never reach. So what I want to ask is, knowing you can trust my impressions for sure, why bother playing?
