ok, so thought.. what if lethality/armor pen items all got their damage removed/lowered? (exception of Black cleaver 
and the like)
but the items like 
would all have their bonus AD removed/lowered, so instead of just being these annoying power spikes, they were just utility? only meant to be used in conjunction with other AD items..
idk it's just an idea.. probably unpopular opinion, idk..

because you build alot of AD then build armor pen as a utility item to get passed tanks.. it's meant to be utility, not to give you straight burst..

even if you get more AD, it's still gonna be blocked by the armor.. the armor pen bypasses that.. do you just not know how it works?

yeah but guess what I will be doing the exact same damage to tanks regardless since my lethality items give me nothing at all. Might as well get more AD to boost my skills damage rather than wasting gold on nothing. Do you know how it works? I don't care if something gives me 30 lethality if I get no AD from it. Might as well get a bunch of AD and still destroy squishies rather than gimping my build for no reason whatsoever

Also you rush penetration because that's what it's INTENDED for. You want to burst through squishy's defenses before they get them high enough. If you buy duskblade last, the ADC wouldn't be taking near as much damage from you because he'd still have plenty of base armor. You rush penetration to get ahead so you don't fall out of the game and be useless as an assassin late game.

it still gives armor pen. you combine that with other AD items.. duh.. so it just takes alittle longer to get to that.. are people in this game so spoiled, that they don't understand utility items?

Why would I want armor pen later into the game? If I built no AD at all, I wouldn't get anything out of it, this pushes back items like duskblade to points where they're no longer as relevant. Your problem is you have no idea what armor pen is. It's not meant for tanks, it's meant for squishies to get past their base defenses. It will do absolutely nothing to a tank, this is why MF with Duskblade will barely touch a tank, and Zed and other assassins are also no good vs tanks. Lethality is meant to bypass base armor. If an ADC has 80 armor and you have 20 pen, what good is the item going to do you? You want it when they only have 20 or so armor so that you can deal more damage to them before you get to late game. Assassins do not do well in the late game and these are some of the reasons why. If you just remove the AD off every lethality item, that's just going to make them not build it and build straight AD instead, because 70 AD is far better than 20 lethality. Also there'd be no point in having a 900 G item that's supposed to stay with you all game. No champion has an item that cheap as a core item they keep.
Lethality is what you use to get ahead so that you stay relevant, because believe it or not, if an assassin is not directly AHEAD, he/she is useless. You can't be behind or even and be useful as an assassin.
