You really want to know why people flame, Riot?
It's because this game makes you feel powerless. Let's be real - we play games because they're fun and they make us feel great. I remember when playing Spider-man I felt like a badass. But League is so thoroughly busted, so dumb and its damage so unevenly distributed, in so many situations you feel completely helpless. If you're an ADC, past level 6, and the enemy has Pyke with ignite, there's nothing you can do if Nocturne ganks you. The damage is just fucking ridiculous. You can't do anything if Zed dives you because he doesn't really need to hit anything, ignite chunks off a fourth of your health, his ult and e another two fourths and his dumb basic the last fourth. Hell, people aren't even punished for diving you anymore, because CertainlyT is an edgy fucker who likes to pretend he's cool Akali can stay under your fucking turret and remain untargetable as she executes/ignites you. Our brains don't really grasp the concept of video games. When the feeling of helplessness kicks in, our brains naturally assume we're in danger and the anger response that's triggered is your brain trying to help you survive in what it perceives is peril. It's not the community that's toxic, it's your cancer-fucked game. Fix this shit, make people feel like they can actually change the outcome of a goddamned game and not like it's an 8-person spectating marathon of 2 junglers battling it out on who can dish the most cancer the fastest. No, Kayn shouldn't be able to walk through a wall, take down 80% of your q + w and then finish you off with dark harvest - or should you for some god-forsaken reason manage to escape pin you down with his Zed 2.0 ult. The people aren't toxic, the game is. Say what you will, but Riot is 100% responsible for the state of this community.
