Put Ultimate Hat back in Sorcery.
Why the fuck would it be in Domination? It's already got enough fucking damage

The whole is shit
There fixed itXD
[sg-lux-2] [sg-lux-2] [sg-lux-2]
You made it worse
Not for non-mages.....somehow.......
most junglers take sorcery second, for water walking and celerity. rengar, graves, kindred, nocturne, sejuani, gragas, hecarim... to name a few
Sorcery is probably the best of the 5 for minor runes.
I'd say splashing Inspiration would be the best of the 5, since pretty much every champ can use the free boots +5% CDR
also pretty any champion can use both, scorch and gathering storm, together with transcenende. Champions that can't use manaflowband or Nimbus Cloak are also very rare and Nullifying Orb can also be pretty much used in any game as full ad teams, especialyl with 0 amgic dmg,a re not that likely (in the end even statikks/rapid proc dmg can be reduced by that).
And champions amy want boots faster as 10min and if they get not akedowns they get them not faster. Like if they need mobis/swiftys for roaming or tabbis/mercurys as defense.
Gathering Storm and Transcendence?
It wasn't until they moved ult hat to dom and nerfed/reworked some of the runes in the tree Pour one out for my lads Celerity and old Manaflow. Aery got nerfed a lot, given it's still good. Comet just has such a tiny niche, Phase Rush is a weird rune in that it's basically a bad Stormraider's but some champs like it I guess. Absolute Focus is the new OP in the tree, Nimbus is okay, Null Orb is really nice, Transcendence is uh, well I don't like it but it has its place on some champs, I dislike the adjustment made to Scorch but it's still good, Gathering is shit when games are decided so early but it will be good if the game pace slows down. At least Waterwalking is still dope af
The thing is, most champs can use most of what is in Sorcery so it's a good secondary tree for most champs.
It honestly makes more sense in Domination (given how even before the changes it worked pretty similarly to the hunter runes), and opens it up to more people.
Ultimate Hat was based on ult casts. Unfortunately, this means that they people who could stack it easily had no use for it (as their ults were already short enough CD), and the people who wanted it would basically never stack it (as it'd take ages for them to finish stacking it).
As Ultimate Hunter, it's opened up to the people with long ult CDs, because they can actually get it stacked before the game's over.
I loved Ultimate had but it was problematic in that it was just too easy to stack on some champs compared to others. New Ultimate Hunter is more consistent.
Ultimate Hunter works much better than Ultimate hat. Ultimate hat was a shitty concept, which made short CD ults even shorter, while long CD ults couldn't stack it until 30 minute.
Also domination runes outside of sudden impact, ingenious hunter (situational) and keystones are shit.
The rune itself only really benefits champions who don´t get CDR, or at least, don´t get 40% from core build alone i.e. some tanks.
Literally every mage and assassin gets CDR. Most of them get 30% from core builds alone, and since Ultimate Hunter/Hat stacks multiplicatively with CDR, having more CDR means you´re not making efficient use of the rune.
Yea literally nobody takes ultimate hunter lmao
The other 3 are just too damn good
I mean, i take it on kassadin sometimes, but yeah, its a meme worthy runes
But it should have the full bonus at once.
It is better in the sorcery tree. Although if champions like Zed or Talon really wanted it that badly they would just go into sorcery to take it.
I've heard multiple arguments about it being better for low CD ults... but any CDR will make a low CD ult lower. That's like saying Transcendence is really good for champions with lower CD because they get their ult back 5 seconds faster. If you have a champion with a really low timer on the ult then Ultimate Hat wasn't doing much for you.
Ultimate Hunter isn't necessarily doing that much for a champion with a long ult either. Unless there are a lot of kills happening early or the champion in question has a huge CD on their ult (like Shen) the difference it would make compared to the original rune probably evens out around the mid-game. Plus Ultimate Hunter favors champions who can get quick kills early in the game. If I'm a Talon and can all in level 2 for a first blood then I get a lower CD on my ult when I hit level 6, but if I have a hard time actually killing someone before I have my ult (say Veigar who should be a prime user of the rune) then Ultimate Hunter does nothing for me until I've already used the ultimate to kill something.
There are a also a lot of characters who don't use their ults for killing an enemy champion. I could have used my Shen/Galio ult to save someone, my Kayle shield to not die, my Cho'gath R to eat a dragon that was being contested and I didn't get kills for any of that.
To clarify Ultimate Hunter isn't so hard to stack, it's just inconsistent. I've heard arguments why Ultimate Hat was removed from sorcery tree, but honestly I think it had less to do with the champions that have low ultimate timers and more to do with where it was in the tree placement. By putting it in Domination next to 3 other powerful runes you have to make a strong choice as to which one to take. That choice matters a lot more. So, if they were going to re-add it to sorcery tree I would add it back in the same row as Transcendence. That way you couldn't take CDR on top of more ultimate cooldown reduction because the runes would be on the same tier preventing doubling up on the stat for your ult.
Give ult hat back to sorcery, and trade phase rush or the new and unimproved celerity for it.
I don't think it being in domination will matter when preseason changes happen and the base stats are no longer locked to specific tree
if anything ultimate hat is going to be a dead rune given you could alternatively run presence of mind which gives you a 10% on takedown in addition to mana gain.
If you make two takedowns while the ult is on cooldown, you will refund 20% of your ults cdr which is much bigger than the 15% at most that ultimate hunter can provide.
And since the old trade off was "you lose some direct ap/ad and gain worthless attackspeed" for dipping into presence of mind, which will no longer exist, presence of mind basically becomes the superior rune.
Not how math works. Assuming you instantly get 2 kills with your ult you are only going to get 19% CDR on your ult since it is 10% remaining cooldown. Ultimate Hunter snapshots 15% max cooldown. Another thing to point out is if you DO get multiple kills and or assists for Pressence of Mind to reset your ult cooldown.....what good does that do? Everyone is dead. You are still going to be gated behind your initiators ult cooldown and/or 40+ second respawn timers.
PoM's CD refund is based on maximum cooldown, not remaining. Hence if you got a double kill, it would have a 20% reduced cooldown.
Something you may have forgotten is that if you get a kill any time your ult is on CD, it gets the refund as well. Say you're someone like Lissandra or Ahri, who's ultimates can be used to turn the tide of a fight greatly. If they get a takedown, then that 10% refund could be all they need to get their ultimate back, and use it directly in that teamfight (and have up to another 40% shaved off that ult's cooldown).
Also someone like Karthus or Aatrox who have pretty high cooldowns on their ultimates would like being able to shave 10's of percentages off their cooldowns with every takedown, as during the normal cooldown time the enemy team will surely have respawned.
Because Domination gets all the good toys.
No one used it when it was in sorcery.

Lux didn't use it.
Karma did.
2 champions shouldn't restrict change for 30+.
Lux did use it, and there are plenty of other examples, those were just the two that immediately popped into my head. The rune also existed in a time when Manaflow was mandatory on pretty much every mage.
Except only lux's with no brain used it. You got maybe like 2-3 seconds off your ult on Lux. Even less later in the game. All at the opportunity cost of having zero mana for a majority of the game since you didn't take Manaflow Band. Ultimate Hat worked terribly with any sort of CDR and a champion like Lux who is GUARANTEED to get 30%+ (
+
) AND still has a partial cooldown reset on her ultimate when it kills something and we are only looking at like 2 seconds off or so after like level 11.
Also, another thing to note is ultimate CDR means nothing if you don't use the ult ON COOLDOWN. Me having my ult up 10 seconds earlier or whatever means nothing when we aren't going to teamfight or anything until my Ornn's ult is up in 15 seconds or whatever. Is Nimbus Cloak much better? No, not really, but Ultimate Hat was a huge noobtrap that didn't make sense since ult reliant champions were either mages (in which case they wanted manaflow band) or had long ult cooldowns to begin with so they couldn't stack the hat until like 14 minutes (looking at the likes of Galio, Karthus, Shen, and TF).
I already addressed the point about Manaflow being in a mandatory state (and it still is to a certain extent). Also if you have zero mana throughout the majority of the game, then you must be pretty braindead to just be spamming out your abilities non-stop without ever returning to base or buying
.
Sorry for using my Lux ult on CD to kill/push lane. Guess I should have used a different example like
, or
, or
.
Again the argument being made was that champions did use it, and it's dearly missed because most champions that did take it can't anymore, or are denied another hunter rune if they want it.
You can check every stat website for high elo. No lux used it in high elo.
Please don't spread misinformation.
You can look at the ranking system and find that there are, in fact, ELOs below Diamond. Just because something was never meta in proplay doesn't mean it wasn't enjoyed. Plus, for the third time, it existed in a time when MANAFLOW WAS MANDATORY.
Please don't strawman me.
Diamond+ elos didn't take Ultimate Hat. The game isn't balanced around lesser competition because that would be bad, so Platinum and lower are irrelevant to truly balancing the game.
he was so good with it you could light up half the map with shrooms
wow, a champion who shouldn't be viable.
I'd love to see it get put back in Sorcery, but it would have to work differently. Simply stacking it for casting it makes it too consistent on low ult-CD champs, even going to the extent of Luxs, Karmas and Kassadins ulting in base to get that extra 2% CDR for later.
Ultimate hunter is the better design for the rune, I have to admit, but just because it fits the bill of a "hunter" rune doesn't mean it has to be in domination.
Overgrowth fits in with the legend runes from Precision, yet we don't see it put there because it clearly is meant for champs who take Resolve.
Creating a new Ultimate CDR rune would be great, but it would also mean having to get rid of or changing Ultimate Hunter (which I'm fine with) so we can put Ultimate Hat back in Sorcery (and let it be called Ultimate "Hat" again, dammit).
What I would suggest doing would be to move the effect of Nimbus cloak to Ultimate Hunter. It fits better thematically in Domination, granting an extra burst of movement speed (target access + burst damage) when you cast your ultimate. It could be changed to give varying amounts of movement speed based on hunter stacks, or it could even be moved to a different line in the Domination tree.
Meanwhile, Ultimate Hat could return to its rightful place in the top line of Sorcery runes, with a slightly changed effect. It could be something like "Your ultimate's cooldown is reduced by 1% per level" or "Your ultimate's cooldown is reduced by an additional 2.5% for each 5% CDR you have (max 15% cooldown reduction)" or even just a boring old "You ultimate has a 10% reduced cooldown"
Give control mages more CD on their ults. Or give shit like Rengar and kahzix more times to ult. Riot logic.
K6 and Rengar would take the out of combat movement speed every time. Which is what they do now.
the actual logic is that Controlmages are stacked with amazing runes in Sorcery but lack options for secondary path. And especially domination was really bad. Before was Ultimate Hat heavilly contested with Manaflowband and Nullifying Orb but now a Mage can go Sorcery and Manaflowband and then secondary Domiantion Ultimate Hunter for example.
Yea at that part the runeboni played also a role that Domiantion Secondary should be more attractive cause that also gave Ad/Ap which will no longer matter in the future. But as some peopel allready said the rune just makes mroe Sense int he Domiantiontree asn it allready worked similar to the Hunter Line.
Ultimate Hat in sorcery: Assassin mains complain about this rune not being in Domination.
Ultimate Hunter in domination: Support mains complain about this rune not being in Sorcery.
For real I have to say that Ultimate Hat in the Sorcery rune tree is broken for support mains, I'm not a very competitive player in league but in just over 2 weeks of 3 ranked games a day I got G5 so easily by just one tricking Nami.
It's a long story to explain the set ups and builds but if any nami mains around here they can piece together how strong that rune is.
Works well for other enchanter support types to but Nami was the best for me.
Assassins are strong anyway but the domination tree is pretty weak. But keep in mind I don't always play assassin type champions that much.

???? Are you actually saying that domination tree is in any way, shape or form weaker or even on the same level as Sorcery?
For quite a lot of the year it was, Dom has been nerfed much less than Sorc. It's possibly because Sorc is so good as a general-purpose secondary rune tree.
Ultimate Hat should not be in the game. FULL STOP.
Why are we turning the game into URF? What happened to people actually having to wait in the window between ults? Ultimate Hat and Presence of Mind are terribly designed runes.

I like the Hunter Runes period if only because they track kills and put their power on something of a teamplay contingent. The jungler farming jungle all game or only camping bot doesn't get what Ultimate Hat provided unless they join the team.
The sorcery tree, to me, is fine as is. I think Gathering Storm, the MS bonus, the CDR run at 10 mins, and scorch provide interesting options. If anything needs to change its that Comet and Arey are, for the most part, the same damn rune.
I think one of the problems with that was, that Zilean could to easily achieve an ult cooldown of like 25 seconds after just 25-30 minutes into the game with little to no effort.
Let me tell you I'm not sad, that that shit is gone. Though I got to say that the sorcery tree needs some more variety
Lulu with ultimate hat and +5% cdr had like a 44 second ult cd.
