Runes reforged was a flop, you took a massive blow to your playerbase when you seperated runes and masteries and condensed it. Every champ was able to take whatever they needed to be effective, and could be balanced afterwards.
Just revert to the old system and make runes and masteries free at level 1
This will give us back the massive desire and enjoyment from customization and let us do off meta stuff like we used to.
Do you have any statistics for any of these claims? Where did you see the playerbase drop? Where did you see the massive negative reception?
Keep in mind that the Boards (and even Reddit) don't make up so much as 10% of the playerbase, and even then 100% of that portion of the community is not against Runes Reforged.

old runes were reds, yellows, blues and quints. we got replacements for red, yellow and blue runes but nothing for quints.
