There should be an icon that indicates to us if a person has been autofilled during champ select

There should be an icon next to a person's name or whatever when someone has been autofilled into a role, it helps when coordinating picks.

I know sometimes people get autofilled they tell everyone they want to switch. But most of the time especially in ranked people just don't say anything and you don't realize they have been autofilled and if you had known prior to the game starting and you can ask them if they are comfortable with that role and if not you can switch so team doesn't have dead weight.

I honestly think Riot should just remove it or give an option before to turn it on. It's basically useless in lower ranks (the wait time isn't super long) and just fucks everyone over. In higher ranks I can see the need, but it should just be something you can turn on and off.

I would gladly remove it for like 1-2 min higher que times.

This. And I dont even think it would add to wait times, as there are enough people who dodge due to auto-fill, that any queue time benefit gained from auto-fill, is probably countered by the time lost in dodges.

if you played ranked when the system was first introduced(there was no autofill) you'd have to wait 15-20 minutes(sometimes more) to get in champ select in silver elo. I for once am very happy for autofill

I think one of the reasons that happened before though is because no one wanted to play Support. It's a much more popular role now especially after new champs like Senna and Pyke.

I think Riot should just add "a match has been found and you will be filled into this role, do you accept/decline?". There will be a lot more declines but more better matches.

Ruins the purpose of auto fill - which is to ensure queue times remain manageable regardless of preferred roles.

This is the result when people bitched about the old system that was just fine - where you simply prioritized role selection in the same way as champions - pick order.

But ... the autofilled people are already there, just because u have to resort to a thrid party site to see who is autofilled or not and don't see it in the client itself, doesn't mean they don't exist. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Expectation of communication can as easily lead to no communication at all.

For example, I generally pick Mid/Top or the reverse. Besides Jungle (which I completely suck at), I'm confident in my ability to play the other roles at a decent level and generally setlle for it, with the expectation that my roles have been occupied by people who chose them or that the Autofilled who aren't as confident would nudge me to change roles.

However, if I meet a person similar in my approach and both of us are autofilled in the other's role, then we would stick with it and have a sub-optimal team distribution. It rarely happens to have 2 players autofilled instead of getting their main roles, but it does happen. Basically, everyone should announce that they are autofilled whenever they are to avoid this scenario.

Besides, there is no reason to not add this feature. It speeds up communication and even encourages it ("Hey, I see you are autofilled in a role I'm okay with, would you like to swap?").

Yes. But then again everyone not autofilled will be like: "...Oh Geez..." It would be a nice addition tho, but they are holding of probably because you can just say it.

Unfortunately that would open to many eyes to the dodge unwinnable games strategy which single-handedly increases the winrate of players by 5% It would just be too powerful.

No, when you know the guy is autofilled you know that its not his main role thus you know hes not gonna do as well so you know its not his fault. As opposed to going in game and having the guy feed and not say anything and then blaming him because hes bad without knowing any background information about him.

I've never seen anyone autofilled get shat on in chat. When someone is autofilled and they tell everyone, everyone realizes its gonna suck but no fault of there own...

well i mean you can with op.gg or blitz. I personally use blitz and i can just look and it will automatically tell me which of my team is autofilled/they didnt get their main etc. not to mention when you actually get into the loading screen you can see all the enemies autofills, wr% etc. Super useful tool ngl

That's cool and all but rather have something in game. Not everyone uses op.gg so maybe one of your teammates who doesn't use it and realizes there is a autofill that he could prob take up the role instead would help.

Bad idea. Would 100% lead to people being toxic to the autofill. Now every time they lose, toxic people would know who to target for "why" they lost.

I've never had anyone be toxic to any autofill. The only thing people say is that the person is autofill thus not a good as he/she should be due to no fault of there own but rather the system created by Riot. They target Riot and understand that "why" they lost was not because of the autofill person but rather the concept of autofill.
